VN - Others - Completed - Oral Lessons With Chii-chan [v1.01] [Orcsoft Team Goblin]

I'm pretty mixed on this one; the game has great art, great voice work, and a lot of great scenes, although by the 3rd or 4th BJ scene I was getting bored, but the title of the game kind of hints there's going to be a lot of oral, so that should be expected. I also think the design of the main heroine is great.

My main problems come down to the story, which, yes, despite it being a nukige, I do think story is important in a VN; otherwise, people would just go watch porn since it has significantly less time investment. The story was really frustrating because the protagonist has an extreme lack of self-worth and just kind of rolls with being treated as an expendable side piece, which I guess can be explained by his backstory, but there's not really any character development, and everything ends up just happening to work out for him.
Another big problem was that the main heroine felt EXTREMELY manipulative of the protagonist and like she was taking advantage of his lack of self-worth and using him as essentially a free source of affection while she gets plowed by her boyfriend whenever he's available and not standing her up. The reason I say this is because, while, yeah, she's nice and bubbly on the outside, her actual actions show entirely different things; anybody with even the most minimal amount of relationship experience, no matter how twisted that experience may be, would understand that if you give a fat virgin dude with no relationship experience that much attention and sex favors, especially when you're a pretty girl, he's gonna catch feelings, and yet she did it anyways, and not only that, but she would go as far as having him play as a stand in when her boyfriend stood her up and holding his hand and taking him on what were undeniably dates while also going out of her way to tell him that she would never kiss or have sex with him and describing to him in detail stories of her having sex with her boyfriend. She essentially does everything possible to lead him on while still having plausible deniability if someone were to call her out on it. If that isn't manipulative, I don't know what is. Chie is a girl that if she were real, she would be one of the biggest red flags ever. She's the girl that starts talking to one of your homies, runs through him like a bulldozer, and then your friend group has to spend the next six months to a year building him back up. This manipulation also never even gets slightly addressed, so my guess is the devs just didn't see it as a character flaw, which is worrying to me.

Lastly, I feel the boyfriend, who is arguably the main antagonist of the story, gets off way too lightly.
Overall it was entertaining enough, but I was just expecting more and didn't expect to get so frustrated by the story, enough to take the time to write this review. And I'm almost certainly thinking way deeper about this than the writers themselves probably were, they most likely just wanted a reason to write about a slutty gyaru screwing a virgin. Oh well, the scenes were hot, I guess. The after-story was a lot better though, I just wish everything that came before it was executed better.

Oral Lessons With Chii-chan ♥ is a very specific title that combines "Gyaru", "Kuro", and "Netori" (forget technicalities). If none of that rings a bell, think "tanned heroine, being the main heroine is a good thing". In short, this is porn catering to a particular audience, but they actually bothered with some reflection regarding Chii-chan, and how "slutty/shallow/dumb" she is. The message seems to be, that there's more to people than their appearance, and initial behaviour, and this takes a turn to wholesome territory. Regrettably, that's about it when it comes to praise, the VN is still very limited, and if Chii-chan's appearance, doesn't do it for you, this won't work (ironic, isn't it).

Positive:
- "Kuro Gyaru" main heroine is rare (again, tags are being kept simple, Chii-chan might not even qualify); More than enough H-scenes (they should work if you like the heroine); VN is completely focused on couple, and turns to "pure love romance" (assuming you like that); Nice V.A.

Negative:
- There's no real story (it's a bunch of study SoL, banter regarding feelings, and H-scenes in between); Characters are incredibly limited (literally 1 emotional conflict each, and surprise! they are good people at their cores); There's no real Netori (it's no incentive to read this); Setting is mostly the protagonist's apartment, and the VN is not that short (they are either studying, or having sex, that's it); They can "paint" Chii-chan however they like (it's fiction), but she still comes across as self-centered (disregards consequences of her actions), manipulative, and a slave to her own desires (not the most appealing heroine).

Score: 6/10. A "Nukige" scenario without proper storytelling is basically worthless as a VN (it can still be good general porn, though). The idea that appearances can be deceptive, is not inspired in the least, and having a 2D girl feel "precious", is the easiest thing in the world ("the hearts of men are easily swayed", but in an 18+ sense). Recommended if you are looking for these particular tags, otherwise this is overrated and over popular, there's no reason for all the fuss.

Is the game good? Very good. Do I recommend it? Yes.

Let's start with the obvious: it's an ORCSOFT game. Story, plot, setting, character development? These should be the last things in your mind because this is a nukige - a jerk off game.

WRONG.

Out of all the ORCSOFT games I've played - and I've played all the translated ones, this is the one that subverts your expectations the most. Sure, it starts off with just the heroine giving our MC benefits like a typical gyaru would for teaching her but while doing so, our MC ends up catching feelings like any normal guy would if a girl pays them more attention than usual.

Visually, Chieri looks gorgeous. ORCSOFT's art team did it again with a very sexy girl. A tanned blonde-haired gyaru who is more than just her hair color and social circle. Her sex scenes with our MC? Fantastic.

As for the fat MC, here's an idea: don't put yourself in the shoes of the MC.

Same advice for NTR stories: play the game and read it as any normal smut novel. Learn how to disassociate. You're not the main character, you're a person looking in - an omniscient being looking in from the windows. What I've always found stupid is people going, "Oh my god, that guy is so me!"

How does the game subvert out expectations? Our heroine Chieri is a gyaru slut. MC knows it, she knows it. But is she really? We find out she's more than just a soul sucking blowjob queen, that there is more to the story than just our MC getting sexual favors from Chieri.

Next is the dialogue. If you're well-read, you know how words can evoke feelings in you and I believe that this is where the Japanese shines. It's not only ORCSOFT that is good with this, if you've read JAV titles before and doujinshis, you know how detailed and descriptive they could get. I think its one of the most important factors on how exciting the sex scenes can be especially so in this game. Couple that with the superb art, you have something great.

Just like with any Japanese eroge with voices, sound is a 50/50. Some people are turned off by how vocal Japanese VAs can get whereas for others it helps with getting them off or they don't care. I'm in the latter so the sounds is not an issue with me.

Even if it was just a standard nukige without Chieri being more than just a slut and the added love story, this is an easy 5 star game.

This is the first time I ever stopped reading any porn because the romance writing was so good I needed a break before I could focus on the sex again.
Sadly there are only very few penetration scenes, most of the game is focussed on oral...hence the name. The few that exist are superb however.

So, if you are really into blowjobs and other kinds of foreplay (titjobs, 69, ass-/thighjobs) you're gonna get off to this game just fine.
If you're more like me, you'll probably rush through most of the porn content to continue with the romance. It was the main reason I even read this VN.

As silly as this may sound, the romance and character writing is the strongest aspect of the game and I'll recommend this game almost solely because of it and the incredible voice acting.

If you're into vanilla and love a good buildup do yourself a favor and read this VN.

One of those experiences that is so good, that it leaves you kind of speechless. Don't worry about the girl being slutty, if that's a worry for you, just know it all works out in the end. The females voice acting is superb, the voice actress really goes all in on her performances, and it sells the show, and more than compliments with the nice, sleek art. There are a lot of emotional beats towards the end that made me tear up, its just really really good, I recommend this game heavily.

Was instantly pretty turned off from the fact that the female was a bit of a slut but it turned out to be amazing. The story itself is one of the greatest I've ever read and makes me want to read a manga on how the series progresses. Voice acting is top notch but that's pretty normal for Kagura/Orcsoft Games. Art work was also great with a pretty huge amount of scenes. All in all, definitely recommend if you can withstand a fairly small amount of text, and if you can't, don't filter by V/N. 10/10

What can I say, I love most of the things Orcsoft does in their games. They have the best Bj and Tf scenes, with even the normal scenes being great, their art is stellar (except for that one magic girl one, weird that), top quality voices and sfx, and a pretty good story. Shame that this game's FMC is tanned and gyaru, tags I have no interest in, but still awesome.

Also praise the uncensor and clean translation, combined they are 1 for every 100!

This one is a little gem, i didn't expect much from a nukige, a quick fap at best but i was pleasantly surprised, we obviously get steamy sex scenes but the story is actually pretty good for a nukige and the heroine is the nicest slut ever, the voice actress did a terrific job too.

This game is reverse of your typical ntr highschool girl offbrand manga.
Instead of nice and serious girl changed into slut, here we have a slut, that by the power of main protagonist improves her grades and gets into vanilla relationship full of hot, loving sex.

For a nukige, story is very well written and interesting, sometimes funny and sometimes getting into sadder tones. Main character under mask of slut is in fact good natured, caring and cute if somewhat insecure girl. Seriously, I played many VN including top rated 50+hours titles and I don't remember when, if ever I saw character that was this cute in her behavior. Her voice actor is also doing stellar job. Her small pouts, changes of intonation and overall work gave so much to the enjoyment i got from the game.
I wholeheartedly can recommend it to anyone, that won't be discouraged by the fact, that main heroine isn't a virgin. Good story that reverse overused trope, hot sex scenes and cute heroine. 5/5

Haven't played the translated version yet but played it untranslated when it first came out, great art and good sex scenes and surprisingly a good plot. Actually gonna have to give another go now that its TL'd

I Wish I would have waited to buy this on Fakku... I knew it was going to be on here sooner or later. Either way, it's a great game and everyone needs to play this and experience the great efforts of the translation from Japanese to English.
