That might be in the cards. Depending on Cindy's relationship with Wade, when she is seen with Axel her outfit is different. On the path with no relationship with Ian and bad terms with Wade she has the white outfit and a gold necklace, paying no mind to Wade. If she ended on good terms with Wade, she has the brown and white outfit and asks about Wade. I think that route is where something might have happened, but she stopped it, similiar to the trusting Ian route. Then the former is where she went all the way with Axel.

It will also be in line with Louise's character to catch feelings for Ian after he gives her a good dicking in the threesome scene or just by seeing him hanging around because he's such a cool guy. From a writer's perspective, you can justify Louise's pursuit of Ian as a failed extreme friendship test, similar to how an irresponsible Lena can seduce Jeremy.
Ian's motivation is a bit iffy, but we can poke holes through all story paths in ORS. There are so many variables that it's barely coherent at times.

She might not have banged Axel if Wade broke up with her first and was in a good place about it. The little discussion about Wade when you bump into Cindy and Axel, she seems a bit offended and wronged about Ian implying she jumped right under Axel. Time will tell though.

Holly is an honourary protagonist, not an actual one. We hear about her home life, but only as much as she's willing to tell. But the message is clear, she needs to become independent and out of her families control. The reason she hasn't left before is a lack of confidence and being able to imagine that better life. By now, on most every route, she has that now. Plus she has a full time gig and two popular novels. Holly's problem was inertia. Now it's just waiting for EK to pull the trigger on the big housing shuffle that has been building.

You can't help Wade and go for Cindy at the same time. If you go for Cindy, the options to help Wade are blocked out.
I'm also leaning into this view, even if it clearly smells of high copium, since what exactly transpired and what didn't remains vague and not spelled out clearly and the whole crisis is more about Cindy being mad at Ian displaying jealousy, reminding her of Wade outbursts.
You can but it's tricky. You need to stop Wade from calling Cindy when he's angry, stop Axel from touching Cindy at the photo shoot and ask Wade at the beach if he's happy with her (wits option). Wade will break up with Cindy and there won't be any pictures at the beach house.

Axel is both villain and antagonist to Ian, so a good Ian playthrough that helps his friends, and goes for anyone but Cindy, can try and help them both to a happier resolution. As Ian can also do for Perry.
And while it may be on the copium side, Cindy being dumped by a calm and collected Wade probably rocked her world, and fucked with her ego. Which may have turned Axel's advances into something gross, at the time.

I believe there is a bug that it doesn't take that into account but the outcome seems to be canon if Ian is not on the love path with Cindy.

That's (Fight for Cindy) path. This is the only path where Wade doesn't break down from the breakup. All the other path breaks him down.

Got around to play the new update, so here is a compact first impression.
- Great stuff in it for the Alison fans, for all variants of her, be it sweet Alison, experimental Alison and slutty Alison. It is the first time Ian and her can fully commit. Not only sweet Alison, but also experimental Alison. The shot below is from a playthrough with Ian/Alison romance and them having and planning further threesomes.
- Far too few Holly in the update, be it sweet or slutty Holly. I really hoped for a talk between Ian and slutty Holly, with the option to get together. As a late point to still couple Ian and Holly up. Hopefully soon. A small development here is that slutty Holly posted pics from the holiday on "Peoplegram".
As for sweet Holly the shocker was her being grounded(!) by her parents, even encouraged Holly! WTF, Holly is an adult and a successful writer. I know myself that you always will be the son/daughter of your parents, no matter your age, but in Holly´s case, that is a bad joke. At least it seems to be the jumpstart for Ian and Holly moving in together sometime in the future.
