Please understand the following opinion only as a subjective and personal opinion. Thanks in advance!
After going through the entire 0.9 update several times yesterday, I have to say that I am really disappointed. Compared to the development time, it was pretty poor. Days were sometimes rushed through with just one event. Some were even skipped. There wasn't really any progress or there was hardly any progress on individual storylines, at best teasers. Only the Seymour / Lena storyline got more focus this time, which was also the reason for the title LUST & POWER.
As I said, it's just my opinion, but personally I have lowered my expectations for the future of the game a lot.

I think most of the problem is that... there are a lot of leaps in the main characters actions.
That's why having 2 not blank slates characters are great for story telling, and bad for making certain choices believable or working.
Like, i get it, you need to get the ball rolling, but i think that Eva got herself into a corner on how "strong" those characters felt against certain situations (And i think that it is one of the main reason that the game is so good, the MC are well defined, and written with certain leeway to direct them).
But in this update some of the development felt rushed to satisfy certain kinks.
So even if the corruption path for Lena is hot, i think that only the Axel's one was greatly build up, but in the other scenario it doesn't feel that it is what Lena would do. Like letting a man redefining her conception of what she is being doing (modelling, nude posing, etc) in a span of a converstation, after knowing that he is checking her financial status, almost stalking her, i dunno. Even in my most corrupted Lena path, felt not 100% natural.
The same goes for Ian x Cindy. I like how strong the chemistry between them is. But... Ian cheating, on one of his best friends in that manner... Don't get me wrong, is one of the hottest scenes.
But for sure destroy's one of the pillars that the games was built on, that, at least for me, is that both characters felt coherent.
Lena had some flawed decisions up until this chapter (Jeremy's scene in Louise bed is another example of a scene that didn't felt 100% natural for me, and is there for the kink), so the build up to this resolution was... kind of expected.
But it seems that it was too sudden for Ian.
The Wade's party situation was more in tone of the heat of the moment.
But if you let it sink, in this update, Ian can choose to act in a way that got him mourning for a year after his ex cheated on him.
All of those is why i think that this chapter felt weaker, like some of you said, on the narrative for me. Too many leaps on how the MCs can react in contrast to what they are.
But i understand why some decisions were made.
I think that Eva felt that she needs to speed some paths to have diversity and plot points to advance. And in some scenearios she closed some plots, narrow the scope, and get the main plot that she wanted to develop further, even if it's not perfectly build up to that point.
Her only problem, at least in this update, was writting 2 great characters, and having to cater a wide audience that have interest in so many scenarios.

Yeah, some decisions don't make complete sense story-wise. Both Ian and Lena can go the cheating route with people already in relationships, and it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal to either of them. At the same time, the game tells the player how they're still not over the trauma from their previous relationships, ruined by cheating partners. You would expect them to have more elaborate internal deliberations about their involvement in infidelity.

This chapter is just a normal update and not something special just because it took 5 months. There must be some other reason for the delay. Skipping days is nothing new, each chapter last about a week and days are regularly skipped.
I disagree on that there wasn't any progress. Ian can start a relationship with Cindy or suggest to keep cheating, he can declare his love to Alison or Cherry and he can finally talk with Lena about their relationship and formally become a couple.
Lena get 2 big scenes where she can fall again for Axel and enter the contract with Seymour. I can't think of a chapter where so much happened relationshipwise.
For a Lena that followed all of Seymour's orders, liking working with him and liking money it makes perfect sense to enter the contract.
A Lena that stared at Jeremy's cock when she spied on him and Louise, who fantasizes about BBC and got to play with it at Ivy's game is it really that far fetched that she want to have it again?
An Ian who lusted for Cindy the whole game and who was dismissive of Wade, blaming him for their relationship troubles, agreeing with Axel when they are having a beer, the choice doesn't seem far off at all.
In the end it is always your choice, you decide who Ian/Lena really is.

I find it odd how easy both characters get involved with cheaters when they know how it feels to get cheated on. I expected a more developed moral dilemma if the player decides to go that route based on the backstory and internal monologue both Ian and Lena have.So are people who got cheated on less likely to cheat themselves or more likely?
Also, might I point out that Lena/Ian are not the actual cheaters. They are not the ones in a relationship. The cheaters are Cindy, Minerva, Jeremy and Mike.

I have still hope for an 'real' clos relation between Ian, Lena and Holly.

Agreed -- and in GGGB this is handled much differently. There is a ton of setup to get to a point where the MC will try to steal the best friend's boyfriend, so it feels more organic and believable. We see the MC and the boyfriend in numerous situations together where the tension builds up, and we get a lot of internal monologue over it. That doesn't happen in ORS. Which is fine, they don't have to be the same game. But it is a point of interest.
I can sort of buy the Lena routes. She's needy, messy, depressed and anxious and she's using these guys for sex. It kind of paints a dark picture of the Lena character though.
But the Ian/Cindy route in particular just falls completely flat for me. A big part of the issue is that Cindy has the personality of a shoe. We don't get any context for why Ian would suddenly fall in love with her. She's not funny, quirky, they don't have any kind of history together, or mutual interests. Her character is: she's blonde.
It's just not very plausible that Ian would want her so badly that he would toss ALL his other relationships -- both his romances and his friendships -- to get with her.
Went back through the thread and didn't see one. Does anyone have a final scene list for 0.9?
I feel Ian/Cindy path seems straight forward for a reason.....My hunch is Axel will be involved with her regardless if you're in a relationship or not......leading to her cheating on you with axel or Ian not caring since its fair game just being a hook up

if you mean that Cindy's cheating on Wade is inevitable whether with Ian or Axel im not sure if this is true or not, but i think you can help them fix their relationship throgh your choices.
