Aside from being incredibly cliched, it's a terrible relationship advice to date if you are hung up over your latest relationship/rejection and chose your partner because they suffered the same.
I feel it's quite unaccurate take for these two -- they have similar past experiences, but #1 it's not exactly unique, at the age of twenty-something majority of people are going to have at least one failed relationship behind them, so if you're going to reject possibilities based on that then, well; and #2 that's not the actual reason these two get together -- Lena doesn't even remember meeting Ian, much less his past, and Ian is attracted to Lena for number of reasons and dwelling on her past isn't one of them.

Yes - if you dont go to the book conference, Ian is kicked out of her path. Conversely, if you go to the conference, you are kicked out of Cindy's path .

You can have -
1) Either Alison or Cherry
2) Either Emma or Alison (if you fuck Emma, you are removed from the Alison path)
3) Either Holly or Cindy
4) Either Lena or Holly.

Ian's paths have always been very branched. Lena on the other hand can fuck mostly all characters in 1 playthrough (except fot the Louise / Jeremy choice).
You *can* get a one-night stand with Alison and then threesome Alison/Jeremy if you choose Emma.
And...can't you get a hookup relationship with Lena even if you go Holly?

But if you aren't ever dating her...I think you can still keep it up. Am I wrong? (Most of my playthroughs are entirely FWB, zero relationships if possible)

The game considers hook ups with Lena as _dating stage of relationship. To put it simply, if Ian does anything with Holly during the weekend trip then Lena won't do anything sexual with him anymore. At least as far as game goes currently.

How do I make Lena refuse to have sex with Ian so that he only watches her masturbate in chapter 10? In the alpha it worked, but in the final version Ian "takes control" and fucks Lena.

You have to make sure Ian doesn't have sex with Lena at all and if you want cucked dialogue for that scene you have to let her choose Robert after they fight in Chapter 7

Rape yes, but prostitution? It's not very different from porn as long it's consensual between adults and no human trafficking is involved.
Depends on the country; profiting from prostitution of others (or simpler, pimping) tends to be illegal more often because this often puts at least a question mark in the "consensual", due to power imbalance involved.

That's the point of legalizing prostitution, to eliminate abusive asshole pimps and to protect the prostitute from violence and abuse.

Have to say that Minerva has turned into the hottest piece of ass. Nothing beats hate fucking your female boss. Is there also a path where Minerva sexually dominates Ian?
I don't think that's her thing at all...not from what we saw from her so far.

Unfortunately, prostitution being legal doesn't exactly do much in eliminating people who profit from pressing women into this type of work and/or "providing protection" for legal prostitutes, and who use violence and abuse to achieve that.

That can be said for any other line of work. But if it's legal the girl can actually call the police if she is being physically abused, it's not the case if it's illegal.
It works well in lots of European counties(still a shitty job tho).
