Welp, I got around to playing this one. On the one hand, I still suck at platformers, on the other hand, I still managed to beat everything except Luna on the so called "Hard" difficulty, so I guess it wasn't that hard...
Realistically though, most of the difficulty in this game comes from the janky controls, the janky responsiveness and the sometimes inconsistent hit-boxes and whatnot. The fact that the dodge works backwards when on the ground and forward when in the air is a thing that constantly tripped me up. It also doesn't help that the dodge only gives I-frames when you make a so called "perfect dodge", aka when you hit it right before you're about to be hit, at which point you get a second or so of slo-mo and I'm not clear exactly how much invulnerability time, which is also supposedly extended once you get that one upgrade.
There's also a delay when changing directions, which can further trip you up if you want to dodge. On top of that, enemies can stop your skills and put them on cooldown if they hit you at times, and I haven't really seen what the pattern is on that, though admittedly, I haven't tried very hard to figure it out.
From the looks of things, the game suffers from the fact that the dev didn't seem to know what kind of platformer they wanted to make. Did they want to make a more hack&slash type platformer where you mow down hordes of enemies with tons of button mashing? Or did they want to make a more precise one where timing is everything? No one knows, but you don't really have either.
I say this because, for example, the sword attack has a cooldown. But you can bypass it, sort of, with the melee skills and enemies except for bosses can be staggered to a degree. So you'd THINK that you're supposed to keep hitting with the sword and push in sword skills between sword combos... but it doesn't really work out like that because hordes either have some exploding dude in them that will force you to break the combo with a dodge, and since the dodge doesn't make you invulnerable unless it's perfect, that means you might become vulnerable to something else in the horde. On top of that, the game is fairly fond of dropping stuff behind you, and since direction changes have a bit of a lag, it's difficult to respond properly at times. I suppose someone with better reflexes than me might have less issues, but the gameplay is genuinely not great in terms of responsiveness.
Moving on...
The translation, supposedly done by a professional, is pretty eh. Not utterly bad, but not great either. Devs were probably scammed tbh...
As for the story. Well, it's the typical zombie apocalypse silliness, at least to begin with. This isn't the first time I've seen a game start off with a scientist running over to activate a secret bioroid or some such to save her ass. Not even the first time said bioroid uses a sword even... The Dev tried to give it some spice with the whole "Sena being based off of someone Hughes loved" thing and thus a tool for her to slake her lusts on. Then they tried to give it even more spice with the whole "A demon-girl caused it because she wanted to get in Hughes' panties after Hughes apparently kicked her ass in the past and left her powerless for hundreds of years or whatnot". Then they pile on a bunch of sequel bait involving Hughes past as a super-powerful mage who had her power sealed by some godlike entity for using some sort of forbidden magic, then the whole thing Utopia that wants to destroy the Ark and the Ark's supposed inhumane experiments and so on.
It's... honestly not great. It's basically a bunch of "wouldn't it be cool" ideas that are barely held together with dried up zombie and tentacle cum. Basically, don't play this game for the story... or the gameplay really. There's better H-platformers out there by miles, this is not one of the great ones.
What IS great about it is the art, at least if you're into Huge Tiddies, because man do Sena's boobs fit in with the Circle's name.
Every enemy in the game can rape Sena in combat if she's knocked down, every single one, and some even have group animations where they gang-up on her. This includes the bosses too of course, where every single one can fuck her. On top of that, there's a number of defeat animations that happen and vary depending on where and what defeated Sena, to an extent. Sadly, there's not as many of these as the enemy ones, but it's still really great. The art style is very nice. The animations are smooth. There's lots of monster smut. There's even a bunch of NPCs that get fucked that you can find and rescue. There's some smut even as part of the story too, so quite frankly, there's a LOT of smut in this game for its size.
Even better, unlike some other games I could name, everything is in the gallery. Every little thing. All the in combat animations, the defeat animations, the story scenes. There's even a debug mode you can use to dump Sena with a bunch of enemies for them to fight and rape her more "naturally" like in combat. Honestly, the only problem this has is that the gallery can't be fully navigated with just the mouse... but eh, I can only wish that other games had this level of effort put in them in terms of H-content.
In terms of rating the game... Honestly, if I were to rate it as a game...? Probably 2-3 stars. The gameplay is just not great. If I were to rate it as a smut dispenser? 5 stars easy. The art and animations just really hit the spot for my fetishes. So, I guess it averages out at around 4 stars?
Either way, not a bad way to waste some hours, and a great source of material. Dunno if I'll try to beat Luna though, seems like too much of a pain in the ass to be worth it and from what I've dug around, you don't get anything for doing it anyway...
