There's speculation and then there is straight up delusion.

No one is speculating that Bates is Jake's dad. The story doesn't talk about Jake's parents at all so there's a possibility, however remote, that Bates will be revealed as his dad in a later update. No one talks about this though, because despite the fact we can speculate, it's absurd.

Instead, it's easier to just invent scenarios that speculate Allison could be unfaithful because it will somehow justify Jake's actions. She's a workaholic, not a cheater. They used to be good together, got absorbed in their careers and she stopped paying attention to the marriage, causing him to seek comfort elsewhere. That's all there is to it.

Never mind the fact Jake is petty enough to use it as ammunition if he knew. Well that didn't happen so now Allison is smart enough to keep the affair secret to justify Jake not knowing. Wait if she's smart enough to hide an affair, why was she with Jake in the first place? Oh Lily of course, it was a marriage of convenience forced by Allison's parents, a shotgun wedding if you will. Her dad? Bates of course, to add another layer of animosity between him and Jake.

V has cheated on Jake too. I know she's been super pushy about getting into a serious relationship with him and it would make no sense but since the author hasn't outright said "Veronica has not cheated on Jake," she has. It's just a tiny version of Mad Libs.

Nah, it's story first kind of VN. There are quite a few sex scenes but they are spread out in the story.

The racing, while important, isn't done all that often. Typically comes with a mini game where you have to upshift inside certain rpm ranges and timed choices throughout each race.

Exactly this. You can lose races, and there is no noticeable impact to the Lily story. As of what's been released thus far, it just affects how much cash you have for the app to upgrade your car. Currently you can buy one thing from the upgrade shop, but based on the story more will come.

Will losing races impact the main story? I doubt it every will as that means there'd be variations where Lily may not survive. And I don't think the author wants to go there... but that's just my guess.

The bulk of the raised money does not come from Jake. The money comes from: 1) Allie's cheque; and 2) the cash winnings that his best friend (blanking on the name) got from his race betting, to pay for the treatment.

You just don't understand, but this is fine with me. I never said V or Allison cheated! I said we don't know!
You try to say she did not cheat, but we don't have facts! We don't know if Jake cheated! But we know he accepted others saying it, so it seems very likely.
I'm not trying to say Allison cheated, I'm trying to explain that we don't know it and we can't say if or if not! But I have to agree the likelihood of her not cheating seems higher then cheating. But we don't know for certain.

She tossed what, 8k? I have more than that in savings and I don't have a six figure income for sure. Maybe she didn't want to donate all of her savings but still, 8k feels light.

A VP has way more than 8K in savings, even if 8k is a quarter of her savings 32k savings for a VP is nothing. Probably just an oversight from the developer IMO

Who knows what financial costs had to happen. Maybe she had major housing repair costs, or medical costs, or paying for private school and daycare (which costs a fucking fortune in the US). Jake hasn't been contributing a lot of money, based on his current status.

Good private schools and daycare can easily cost more than public universities here.

Yeah, I just try to ignore money in games. The economies in games are so whacked that nothing makes sense. Even in AAA games it's the same thing. Let's just pretend taxes and the cost of living are so high that a VP at a major company like that can just barely scrape by. Just pretend that everyone making less wouldn't survive.

Many executive-level and board salaries are high, but a lot of value the real value is in the things like stock options and other "intangible" (tax-wise) perks and benefits. Worst case, she'd have been able to very quickly get a bridge loan until she could cash in some stock options.

Economies, money, and value of goods/homes are, I believe, just ways to make scenes feel impactful. So each scenario is self-contained within that scene in that moment. That's why from that scene, and onwards, you never see them trying to scrimp and save their pennies. It's just life as usual.

You can buy way more upgrades already since the latest release already, there just isnt a race yet but there are quite a few upgrades available.

I mean jake worked in the same company and has apparently no savings at all.

But at some point Jake drops something like "we couldnt even get the money together if both of us would sell all our assets" so it seems like their money is mostly bound in some long-term assets and getting the money was a matter of days thing to get it started immediatly.
