i can beleve this... This goldfish was really dead (some time ago the fasle report was not too far from reallity)... I don t beleve him for one second. To much serious in this tweet for final fantasy, to said it was in depressive stat, where nothing really matter... i go that way sometime ago.
M dev you know work is ususally good for depression, take a objective and keep it until the goal is good for up feelings, all the therapist will tell you this... You just runaway and make excuses, and even your team is starting to get fed up of you... You can try some damage control the bad is already done. Just go to work Mr Damned lazy bone...

Is it just me, or are a lot of VN developers unusually prone to depression and/or their family members dying?
The only excuse I can believe without a second thought is "my <PC component> is fried, gotta buy a new one" as it is the cost of doing business (photo-realistic rendering 20+ hours a day is bound to leave a mark).

Is there some correlation or cause in: being an AVN developer = negative mental state?

It's an honest to God question...

For me - I stopped supporting Radiant on SS when Sir Dammed went radio silent again (as in not even responding to supporters on SS).

I did not feel like I had been ripped off by anyone for supporting up to that point in time, but radio silence said it was time to give that support to a different dev who Was creating content I enjoyed.

I am now in the same position as many who enjoy Radiant - enjoying other AVNs I support as well as finding new creators on F95 who have enough updates out to see if their story is worth my time (and perhaps my $).

I've lost nothing if the end of March sees no additional updates to Radiant.

If Radiant gets the two updates 'promised' by the end of March 2024, then I get to enjoy more content for one of many stories I enjoy.

I've had other devs stop providing timely updates, which led to me dropping my $ support. With a few of them, 1+ year later they started back up with updates and one seemed so energized that I renewed my $ support.

Will that happen with Radiant?

I don't know and am not worried about it.

So, I have ~ 4 1/2 months before I will know if Radiant will really continue or not.

Between now and then, I have Plenty of AVNs to sample as well as continue some gems recently found.

GL to everyone out there looking for more great stories to enjoy!

To be fair, we can all be prone to depression and losing family members, these are things that happen lol.

And as you can see with many users of this forum, people who jerk off all day are not usually the happiest in the neighborhood (I'm the exception, thank god) .

Polarity I wouldn't have touched (for free here on this site) even if it was not abandoned. It really looks hideous. If many people saw it like me, I guess he didn't earn much on it to begin with.

People dying is normal, as you get older more and more people who are close to you, will unfortunately die. As for the depression/ mental health stuff, it seems like nowadays everyone claims to be depressed so it's hard to know what is real and what is not.
Him tweeting constantly about FFXVI and other games while people were waiting for any news about the game he is supposed to be working on, doesn't really help his case.

I doubt that anyone here "knows" the facts, in the best case he makes an educated guess. You want to make conclusions without facts ... that's fine, it's called prejustice. Many people do that.

Playing online games all the time can be a sign for a depression or similar other psychological problems. I know what I'm talking about. When you can think of not much else than your game ... that's bad. One of the consequences is that you become very inefficient at your job, if you can do it at all.

We don't really have any way to know for sure what is really going on in his life, so we can't say with certainty that nothing bad happened. But I can understand why people don't trust him. The way he handled things doesn't really help his case either.

On the one hand, over-indulging in drugs/booze is obviously self-destructive behaviour. But how is a Dev totally neglecting his game(s) while still receiving full payments from his supporters correspondingly similar ? Seems a lot more like SirD rewarding himself rather than punishing himself.

Yeah like I said the way he handle the whole situation doesn't make him look good. Now we just have to wait and see what they do. They will probably release something before the end of the year so they can get rid of the abandoned tag but after that I am not really expecting things to change.

Yikes. Sir... proof is inadmissable in internet court when it has edits. We could assume they're minor corrections, but it might've also been a completely different tone/kind of convo from what we're seeing. I mean, one line is edited to "100%". Also yikes, the "I'm cool with people thinking I'm an asshole." That kind of thinking can lead to consciously behaving like one.

But that brings me back to yikes #1. How convincing is a blasé act when someone tends to edit their convo; that shows they care about presentation, correctness, and what people think, no?

Also also, the timing of the statement... why now? People must've cared before today so that on its own wasn't a trigger. Difference is the abandoned tag. Did people consequently prod a bit extra? Does he care about how it might affect some people? The project? Income?

Questions, questions. While I enjoy putting on my detective hat and making wild speculations- Wait, one more! Something about the back and forth between Alorth and Sir Dammed tells me Alorth might be getting a bit fed up with how the project is going (or not going). We can all see the "ok..." and we all know the importance of the three dots. That's like a girl saying she's fine but underneath there's a whole plethora of unspoken feelings.

What do you think, fellow armchair-judges? Does he go free or should he go to internet prison for not delivering our porn game on time?

Yeah, but at the end of the day there is nothing that we can do. It's not like it's one of those games that doesn't get enough support and the devs don't have the time to work on the game because they have a full time job. People want to support the game and want it to be successful, it's up to the devs to actually work on the game.
It's kind of crazy to think that it will be 4 years of "development" in April.
