the modder simply didn't bother to correct the entire text. the game text assumes that the hero is from another family and explains in detail how they met. with the mod, you either have to cut out this fragment or come up with your own story instead of the original.
the problem is also that the game is not finished. let's say in the future there will be a flashback of grace talking to the hero's mother. how can the patched version explain who this second woman is? this is not the kind of game where you can replace grace with mom and nothing will change. or let's say at some point chloe will say that who cares, we are not really related. in the patched version this will also raise a number of questions.
