I have the same problem, i didn't download the Itch.io version will try that in a few hours.
Downloaded the version on Google drive for Mac

Woops, I realized that I didn't upload the fixed versions in the drive, try to download it again
I am enjoying the story but please put a save notice it suddenly went to the main menu without me given a chance to save at the end.
