Hey, i like the idea not a harem for Kim or Cara , Polyamory is perfect, imao. But i dont like sub or dom because, too many games are like dom ( most male ) or sub, so your game was perfect , imao for me ;), not the mainstram ( i understand other like this ) . I like spanking but not like, i am dom over the other, more it is a kink for both and both like it to get spank or spank the other, than, imao, is it not dom or sub, only a art of sex which both like and not the thought, i am dom for her or sub for her. If Kim love Cara absolute each other give freedom if the play around with other girls but the know, it is not cheating because , i dont like the word permission, it implied one is like a ownership. Both, Kira and Cara and, of course, Sandra are independent girls which decide only for herself and know , if i make sex or have fun with other, her relationship are unchanged. So i think, if Sandra become a tight correlation to Kim and Cara like Cara and Kim , so never ever one is jealousy. All what count is the love for the other. But, i know, it is only what i like :sneaky:. What ever, i will play your game furthermore, it is simple different to other games and very good.

Thanks, Skeeve :)

And don't worry, any dominant / sub scenes can be filtered off. None of them are forced on you anyway, being dominant or submissive in sex will always be a player choice :)

Yes, i know and i understand if some filtered off, but i think only, why, is it needed because some only play a game only for femdom or maledom ? I know rare few games without this male ore femdom thing and the story and the mc ( female or male ) are very good . But only my opinion :sneaky:

It's needed because i prefer to give players as many options as i can think to, rather than forcing them down a linear plot. I like the idea of "choose your own adventure" outcomes. And so i set it up like that from the start :)

Ideally, I'd like Rivers of Astrum to be appealing to people with all sorts of kinks, as I myself have *quite* a few. I just truly enjoy options. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to explore/write/render a lot of different outcomes, which is fun, and i can do it without having to choose one to send the player to. This way, they can decide for themselves :)

So, I've gone ahead and disabled reviews on itch. Unfortunately, Rivers of Astrum got hit with a sudden wave of people one-starring the game, complaining about the lesbianism. ... again ... this is sandblasted all over the page. I don't mind honest criticism, but when you're dragging the game's average down because YOU either refuse to read, or can't ... That is not a flaw of the game, nor is that an honest review. If you don't like lesbian content, don't download lesbian games, that's all I got.

I really don't get why itch doesn't show the actual reviews unless you're the dev or following that reviewer. That makes them much less useful for the audience if we can't see if they are valid or not.

lol these are a bit funny to read because the game is still in the early stages it's always annoying when ppl expect certain scenes right away imo.
Well, the thing is, they're wrong. If they didn't see the hetero scenes, one of two things is true. They either had hetero sex turned OFF, or they quit before the scene ... which is like 10 damn minutes into the game.

In either case. It's inaccurate. In the case of the one complaining about only one hetero scene so far ... yes, that's true for now, but that will change, and again ... it's a lesbian centric game. Why would you download that and go *looking* for straight scenes.

So, I say what I always say. I acknowledge and appreciate honest reviews and feedback, but when your feedback amounts to "I read literally nothing, and im here to complain about my own ignorance." ... That is not valid.

ah true enough I forgot about the filters. When I read those reviews I was thinking how 1 scene wasn't enough for them when it's still early in the game's story lol

Yeah, and i don't wanna come across as some sort of tyrannical asshole. But hell, as you said, people can't even see them. They'll just see the score, and assume it's accurate, not taking into account the numerous people like the ones posted above, whose reviews are irrelevant, because they downloaded a game that focuses on content they don't like. It is a visual NOVEL. Reading is to be expected. If you refuse, the fault lies with you, not the game.

My guess would be for moderation reasons. Itch might not have the manpower to moderate the whole site with it not being a major player in the overall gaming industry. (It is for adult gaming but there is more to gaming than our niche.)

The problem like paper tiger (and you) said, is the fact that the score is visible to everyone but not the context that led to said score. Also I guess that this kind of group review is to communicate with their community of supper hetero lewd gamer, a way for them to say to each other don't try that game you will be disappointed. If there was a better way of communicating this without review bombing a game it would be fairer for everyone. They would know to avoid this game that is not for them while leaving it alone.

I just wonder who engage in this kind of review bombing. They even do it in group. Weather it's heterocentric people or NTR, futanari, prego lover/hater, I don't see the need for this kind of conduct. Taking some of your time to harm someone else's work.

I think, this men are cowards, maybe they think, if a game had not a harem with one male with a very very very big cock and all women are fall just of the cock in love with him, her fantasies are destroyed:cry: and feel their manliness are imminence if girls love girls without need a man , that is not possible, never never never can not be, they must needed a man :ROFLMAO:, but that is only my opinion;). I like your game and like you say, if they dont like games with lesbian content, dont download. Hmm, if a man had a harem and more as one girl is involved, the kiss each others or have more fun, that is not a problem, because a man is the MC  pharisaic ? It is pity imao they are not open and simple wrote a honest criticism . The mainstream like harem games , that is ok for me, but i think, it is boring .

Wanted to comment on this. So, that's a *big* personal kink of mine during non-con scenes ... basically "overstimulated to the point of endless, uncontrollable orgasms, that turn her into a limp sex puppet" ... and it's on the way! ;)
Sounds great, looking forward to it :D

I have to admit, I wasn't even aware itch had reviews - personally, I only ever read the comments, which provided what I look for in reviews:
Actual impressions outlining what people liked/disliked about a game . I've made countless purchasing/download decisions based on reviews (both for and against, and from both positive and negative reviews - someone hated the game because it's too much text, the graphics are "unimpressive" and shook your character's a lesbian? Damn, should look at it. You think this game is the greatest thing since sliced bread... because you can't pause, the difficulty is insane and the story doesn't "intrude"? Uh, thanks, saved me there), while I don't think a review score (nevermind an aggregated one) has ever made one bit of difference - it'd probably much healthier if they just dropped scores to begin with. Although I guess then it wouldn't be so sortable and "quantifiable" and "data-driven"
(Yes yes, I'm getting off the soapbox and putting it away :ROFLMAO: )

Oh I disagree, that's a very limited view of bondage. For example, there is nothing sexier than a lovely naked woman with arms bound behind her back running around, doing her best to please her partner sexually, being led on a leash into embarrassing situations, trying to escape, etc. Predicament bondage is the best. IMO of course.
I should've been more clear: I meant specifically with regards to the restraints and struggle. Unless escape artist stuff is involved or either the restraints are really flimsy or the characters are really strong, once a restrained is affixed, it's there until removed by the other side*. With tentacles, because it's strength vs strength, there's always a (usually futile) chance to resist, so there's a struggle, and usually there's an escalation (first grasp, followed by increasing restraint, escalating violation and then, if it goes there, breeding).
Oh, and to be clear, I wasn't trying to say "bondage is boring" or anything stupid like that :ROFLMAO:, it was more me nerding out about what makes tentacles work (for me).

* I know there a couple of games that deal with escaping bondage, but from what I've seen they all tend to be all about the bondage and the actual sexual component is much less of a focus (if present at all) - which seems to be what the target audience is into, so obviously good for them :) - it's just not for me.
