we aren't even half way done with the game lol. we have so much more time to work in public, so don't worry! we have no idea what the final form of the project will look like over the next few years, so we have no way of confirming how we intend to release it yet. what we do know is; each update gets more and more intensive. as we continue development, the programing side of things is compounding, meaning we have to devote more time to keeping the game itself running rather than writing or drawing new content. eventually, that programming load will fully overtake our new content efforts, grinding the game's development to a crawl. at that point, a monthly release just wouldn't make any sense. our patrons would feel cheated as new content is added bits and pieces at a time. therefore, once we reach that critical mass, we want to pivot into private development. that means running for a number of months without any patreon income (from RH. our next game will likely take up the mantle). therefore, charging for the game in its finalized state is the best way to pay for our extended stint of private development, and help us save up for future projects.
