"As the game progresses the time and AP to fix bots gets shorter for two reasons: you gain skill and you can have your bots do most of the work using roles."
Yes, but is kinda not enough I think, since we can have multiple bots. but maybe I didn't play long enough yet.

"Color and/or different background images for time of day is a good idea, I'll give it some thought. The workshop is indoors with almost no windows so it might be challenging for background images."
Just change the lighting color, ez tweak in PS, didn't need to render. xd
But yeah.

"Switching between bots could be done better but I'm not sure I'm a good enough programmer to do it. No promises."
It's fine, np.

"Not sure what you want in parts. As you increase the difficulty setting the game provides less information and expects you to remember things yourself. Play in 'Easy' mode and if you still want more information please ask again but be more specific about what you want."
Ahh, got it. I play on easy too, so yeah.
What I mean is, when the player "browse the internet" for parts, it would be good to see Which one is which, is it "CPU" or other things at a glance.
Randomly scatter listing is hard to navigate as well. Maybe first is request for people want some bots at the top, people request parts, people selling their parts.

The browsing side of things I think is good if the game throws some quest (when people want to buy parts or bots)we could "accept" some request, instead of just people posting stuff and it is gone the next hour.
For example, give the player max of 3 requests for accepting bots listing, and 3 for parts or something.
So, the player feels the interaction more when playing, not just doing their things and selling stuff.
atm it's feels like "Ok, scavenge some parts and bots, buy the bots, upgrade the bots, and sell them."
Thanks for clarifying your comments! The last part is about sorting posts on the grey net and handling them differently. People can write mods creating offers and changing the system would break their mods. I understand that it can be frustrating reading the list and having offers posted and removed randomly but I don’t plan to change this, sorry.
Sadly, I do not own PS nor do I know how to use it. I appreciate you taking the time to send feedback and I’ll see what I can do about showing the time of day. Cheers!

This page is quiet which is no surprise since I haven't posted any updates since December 4th. I believe this is the longest time between updates since I started SR24. The next version is not finished and, like often happens, it's been delayed. :( I won't bore you with why this is happening, all I'll say is that the next version will slip into early March.

There's lots of games to play out there, I'm sure you can find fun stuff to do! Cheers!

(GG translate) I know You seem not happy but Your project is different, something new and interesting, good story and look like to seem a realife. It's so less type of this: Earning money and maintain a life . Hopefull the next update coming. Your Fan! :)

Thank you very much for your kind words. I am only unhappy because of the delay. Radnor created a very good game when he made DSCS. I am very happy he shared the code and helped me create SR24. I am learning programming and 3D graphics at the same time while making SR24 so everything takes me a long time to do. Cheers!

Thank you for Your response. I hope in the next update not so far you can make more slots of save. 6 pages are not enough to save. :)

Sorry about the twitching and shaking! ;)

The next version is taking a long time because it includes over 200 images using 3 new settings as well as existing settings. For me DAZ work is slower than programming! I know 200 images may not sound like much but on average it takes me around 45 minutes to 2 hours per image. The variation is because I often have to re-do images because I made a mistake posing them or they just don't look good. I'm embarrassed to admit sometimes I have to repeat them more than once . There is light at the end of the tunnel, almost 150 images are done.

This sounds like a lot of work - thank you for your commitment.
However, to be honest: It could just be me, but I rarely enlarge the pictures to closely look at them.
To me, the management / gameplay aspects are why I keep playing the game - I desire to expand the business, overcome obstacles and "train" some bots to help achieving this.

May I use this opportunity to suggest:
- Hardcore business competition (that influences prices of services and goods) - e.g. sexbot industry, brothel rings, security services market, workshops, etc.
- Different options to destroy, take over or own parts of the competition in order to dominate the markets - that could start with the small repair show around the corner and end with corporate entities
- Naughty rewards for successfully dealing with the competition (CEOs and Business Owners are always female, right?, right?)
- Personnel or Sexbots that can take on greater responsibilities by leading other shops and businesses
- Stock market
- Legal obstacles - solveable with good management or crime
- Becoming a huge corporate / crime boss that wont get tossed arround by some gorilla thugs

Thanks for the suggestions, you have some fun and interesting ideas. I appreciate that many players are much less interested in the artwork than they are the game play. (Especially since the artwork is pretty amateur!) This makes a lot of sense because Radnor's DSCS was primarily a text based game and the mechanics were designed for this. It's a great game and I'm happy to be able to use it to build SR24.

I'm sorry but although your ideas are good ones they don't fit with my goals for the game and my personal goals. I have 3 separate goals for this project and all are equally important to me: learning how to program Renpy/Python games, learning how to use DAZ to create 3D graphic images (and I hope some day animations), and continuing the great game that Radnor created. With these goals I know SR24 is an odd hybrid simulation/sandbox/visual novel game that will only appeal to a quirky audience.

Your ideas fit 2 of my goals perfectly but if I tried to implement them including images made in DAZ I wouldn't finish them for years and years. As it is I've been working on this for 18 months now and my roadmap has enough quests, missions, events, and new locations to keep me busy for at least another year at the rate I'm going and probably longer!

Some players have suggested that I ask people for help so the game can be developed faster with more content. I won't do this because I'm a retired scientist/engineer/manager and this is my hobby. I have no interest in managing a project; been there, done that, don't want to do it again! I'll never ask for donations because this is my hobby not my job.

I've said this before but perhaps it's worth repeating, I wish others would implement their visions and ideas using the source code generously provided by Radnor and, if they want, my source code too. Both are always freely available in my signature here on F95Zone. Anyone deciding to do this should give Radnor credit as he requested when he published his code but there's no need to mention me.

Cheers! :)

Played this quite a bit over the last few days. Management games are still comparatively rare, so it's always nice to find one.

I was mostly happy with the basic gameplay loop, fixing up the bots, training them; the visuals, and the UI. Sure, there's a thing here or there that I'd personally prefer to be slightly different in one way or another, but as everything's in development that's not really worth going into too much.

What ultimately keeps me from being entirely happy is simply that doesn't feel like it does much with the whole sexbot thing. The game doesn't feel very erotic. Oh, sure, you get repeated pictures all the time, but at least as far as I played there was never any sort of narrative sex scene or anything that felt particularly erotic in any other way; just a sorta token CG with maybe a sentence or two (but usually not even that).
And then of course you can't really do anything that might be interesting with sexbots; heck, not even bolt on a penis part to a female bot or something at least slightly out there to make it more "yeah, that's bots, think of all the possibilities". Naw, none of that. Clearly only good Christian bots allowed here, heh.

Writing in general - of which there isn't much - is also quite poor. I got no clue what's part of the original and what's part of this version specifically, so can't really say who's responsible for what, but at the very least removing 99% of all exclamation marks from the narration would make it sound less like a yapping dog. Bark! Bark bark! Bark bark bark! ... since you mostly spend time doing management stuff it's not that critical, but better is always, err, better.

Anyway. My 2cents, for what they are worth. Keep up the good work :)

Thanks for the feedback, most of your criticism is valid. You're correct that it's not an erotic game. Radnor didn't get very far in development and he was focused on the management game play so I'll take blame for the dialog shortcomings. I'm not much of an author and have zero experience writing sex scenes so there's definitely room for improvement. For what it's worth, I'm not sure how erotic sex with a robot would be. Perhaps one could 'humanize' the robots more but that's not the direction I'm going. The MC is going to have more human interaction in the rest of the game but it remains to be seen if I'm any good at dialog.

I think 'Christian' might be a little of an exaggeration but I get the idea. Maybe it's my age but I have zero interest in the futa/trans thing that's all the rage now. Anyone could make a bot mod like that but no one has so far. I'm also not interested in gay relationships so maybe 'Christian' is closer to the mark than I think.

Thanks again, cheers!

I've never really like it when there's a long delay between game updates and the developer tells a sob story explaining why so I'll skip the sob story and just say what's happening. After I put out version 0.10.2 on December 3 I didn't work on the game again until my post above on February 11. I planned to take a break in December but it turned out to be much longer than I expected. Yesterday I finished rendering the images for the new version. I'm getting a little faster creating them and I think the quality is improving slowly. Today I started turning my detailed outline into the actual text and it's going slowly because I'm rusty after writing no code for 3 months (too many typos and syntax errors plus having to look up variable names I used to have memorized :( ). I'm not very good at estimating how long things will take but I still think it will be out by the end of March. Cheers!

Your effort and honesty is appreciated. This is one of like 3 games I actually keep tracked. Cheers to future content and be sure to take care of yourself.

Thanks for your kind words, perhaps I should have said that the unexpected things were nothing serious and I'm fine. The way I said it may have given the wrong impression. I didn't go into them because they would have bored people to tears! They also have nothing to do with burnout so the game will definitely go on. Cheers!

Glad to see DSBCS continued. Is there an easy way to enable the console? Want to screw around and get to where my borked DSBCS save was money wise

It is already mid march where is my video game :cautious::cautious:. Just kidding keep up the good work looking forward to next update.
Oops, this reply was made to the wrong post, my bad.

Sorry, the console isn't enabled in the game so shift+o doesn't work. I don't know how to get around that myself but perhaps someone else can help you.

This won't help now but I will enable it in the next version.

Two thoughts:
1- SR24 is not really continuing DSCS, it's a different game and saves are not compatible. It uses the same code and plays the same way but there are many differences that make it impossible to use saves from one game in the other game.
2- If you do a Google search for "enable developer mode in Renpy" you will find out how to do this by editing a particular file installed with the game. The console is part of developer mode.
Cheers!
