game makes chapter save which continues on next chapter, player saves are per chapter and don't appear on later versions.
so simply start on ch18.9b and click play.

The weird thing is that even all the gallery scenes are locked and the only option is to start a completely new playthrough. Is there a way to export game files from v18.7 to v18.9b?

They've not actually said anymore on Steam release yet which is kind of odd. It's been almost 80 days (according to Itch.io) since the final version came out.
Unless they are having to do some adjustments for Steam, maybe there is some images/video that are copyrighted they can't use or something, not sure, but they have not many any noise about when it will come to Steam.

SHS goes by profiles, make sure your correct profile is loaded, it shows profiles bottom left on the main menu.

I have been using the default profile ever since I've started on v18.7. It also seems to work fine on v18.8, but somehow, none of the saves appear for v18.9b at all. One thing I've noticed is that v18.9b has a smaller compressed file size than v18.8 (both are from GoFiles). I'll re-download v18.9b and try again.

as i said before old saves don't appear in new version, to see those saves you need to "rollback" back to chapter number you made those saves. as long as that game made save is intact you can play new content w/o nags.

Some Android games are indeed downloaders so they can install. Some dev are moving to these types of Android version.

I don't have any idea honestly; it has to be less than 5.5GB as that is the size for Windows/Mac.

If what you meant by ""rollback" back to chapter number" is by selecting the Episode at the main menu, then I have already tried that in the Main Menu/Title. Not even the gallery scenes appear in v18.9b, unlike those in v18.8 and v18.8. I've also tried using the "Create Backup" option to create one in v18.8 and tried to "Load Backup" in v18.9b, but to no avail.
Edit: I'm dumb. I did not compare the folders between v18.8 and v18.9b. Apparently, the latter lacked the Default folder, ga.ini text file, and the l.dat file. Copying over the mentioned files from v18.8 to v18.9b seems to solve the issue for me.
