I do get that, but its more of how it plays out, Hugh stomping on it, and MC just getting over it instantly that bothered me. Hugh initially barks at Kate for doing too much, then Kate's nearly pleading with Hugh to pull the stake out after the surprise stabbing in the heart and THEN also stomping on it. Then MC just brushes it off like "eh, NBD a shower cleared my mind. I'm not bothered at all, that I just went through a deeply traumatic event that just happened in the blink of an eye, that just put me in the most painful agony I ever felt in a split second" feel like just a wee bit of resentment and aggression would have fit that scene more. Whether the MC just storms the fuck off in a rage and steams in a corner somewhere, or runs away like a wounded animal either would have felt more fitting to me.He thinks that showing is better than telling
Kate sadistically wants to break MC, then hughs like "no no dont do that!" then Hugh's like "lemme drive a stake into you, and then stomp on it and make you suffer and beg" then Kates like "please! stop it!" in a way its a bit ironic.
