So the "The Captain" they're talking about in the January patreon post is not CptPopcorn? Or did he bail on it in February?

I don't think so, I think he's just farming his patreon while team is redesigning the game. Cuz I would assume they won't change art or characters that much, but more of a tech/story/dialogues, cuz the line "the story needs A LOT more spicy content" is definitely true.

but if they do total sweep out and re from zero, I think I would keep both versions of the game in op

pretty sure they're rebuilding this game from scratch so this version is a rare and gentle unicorn that will never be complete
