You’ll be given an option to skip his path and go into another one. Wait was there drama about thatI thought the worst when reading up on the whole Dean drama with this game in this thread (kept me away from trying out this game), but honestly i don't really see it compared to other games with a FemMC after i played through said path ...
There isn't that disgusting feeling (blackmail/forced) when you play a FemMC that get's abused or pushed into something grotesque (which i hate).
So idk what all that fuss is about(I'm not really that far in the story atm but yeah).
Anyway i actually enjoyed the game for what it is, and IVY is just gold imo ...

I mean, it's pretty unambiguous that Riley is at least temporarily blackmailed into exposing herself and potentially into some sexual acts. Sure, it's a lot less severe than many other games with blackmail/coercion and you are given a way to escape it, but any type of coerced "consent" is legally and morally not considered true consent, so some people aren't going to enjoy that. You’ll be given an option to skip his path and go into another one. Personally, if I hadn't known that I'd be able to get off that path relatively early, I'd have been a lot less likely to continue the game, to be honest. That would have been a shame, since I really like just about everything else, so I'm glad I knew to just push through it.
I'll play the Dean path as a secondary one, but it doesn't particularly interest me, nor is the blackmail/corruption element the main draw for me with SoD. Riley choosing to pursue broadening her sexuality is more interesting to me, rather than being coerced into it. So, Ivy is the most interesting side character, with the neighbour kid being a decent second option. Kinda don't like anyone else yet (we'll see about the art teacher). It's a good thing you are able to get out that path of course, but i was just surprised how such a really rather minimal version of that blackmail tag got such a strong response from the players.
Don't get me wrong, i hate forced things in any type of games (especially in fmc VN's), but in a game with that name i expected the worst kind of that tag to be seen and that's why i ignored it at the beginning (thankfully that's not the case).
Usually I like blackmail but I wasn’t feeling his path at all.Is it terrible? No. I've seen worse in other games also. But he's still an asshole and I prefer to avoid his path. For me, the game is better without him.
I feel very similar. I generally prefer games where the FMC is freely broadening their sexuality rather than blackmailed or coerced into it. Also agree with Ivy being the most interesting for me, followed by Eliot. I do also like the Dean's assistant (can't remember her name at the moment; Madison?) path that's going on if you get out of his blackmail because she seems to genuinely respect that you were able to do that. And the art teacher is certainly new, but potentially interesting too.I'll play the Dean path as a secondary one, but it doesn't particularly interest me, nor is the blackmail/corruption element the main draw for me with SoD. If the Dean had started off with seduction, rather than coercion, it would have been a lot more palatable for a main playthrough.
Same for me. I like Ivy and Elijah but also like the dean's assistant path.I feel very similar. And yeah, if the Dean had started with seduction instead of blackmail, he'd probably be pretty close to getting in my Riley's pants (but not before Ivy). But since he went for blackmail, he gets nothing but Riley's disdain. In fact, I kind of hope Riley can steal his assistant away from him.

From what I've seen, it's really not either of those things, so I agree. There is a blackmail arc early, but you can get out of it pretty quickly.I saw this game got recommended for female players on YouTube which means that the game is not the rapefest nor slutfest as most FMCs games are.
Yeah, though some players can't realise that not every player like to play their way if the game offer multiple choices. From what I've seen, it's really not either of those things, so I agree. There is a blackmail arc early, but you can get out of it pretty quickly.
Blaze's dad! With whom Riley is going to have sex in episode 4.1, any guess![]()
