I'm in agreement. While i didn't hate every single bit of it... there was some good stuff.... but this rework is pretty much a downgrade to the game. I wish Ocean just improved the quality of the renders and left everything else as is.The fact that I can no longer tell you in which chapter she looked better is exactly my point. Maybe it's just me but I notice her body change in size and shape from scene to scene. Ocean is making her "thiccer" with every update/rework. She looks great at the lake, in the gym, the night where they get drunk on the couch with that yoga outfit and the jacuzzi. She even looked good to me before the rework. Sure her face and hair were a bit fucked up but body wise, still great. I started to notice in 4.5 when you go out with her to grab pizza. Her ass and hips look are larger in that scene with the blue panties than ever before. Shit hit the fan with 4.5 full. She straight up looks ugly to me in some scenes/shots like "the wiggle" one.
I truly hated every single bit of the new update tbh. Girls look worse. New characters being injected retroactively. Story beats changing drastically. The MC's personality went from interesting to weird cringetard. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the source of his trauma was Summer playfully shoving her pinky up his ass and he snapped at the cabin. Then she moved away with her family. Every ounce of captivating atmosphere and storytelling is being washed away by generic "fixes" with every update to the point SG is borderline uninteresting to me now. I'm well aware I'm in the tiny minority here. And that's fine. At least everyone else can enjoy it.
next update is going to be chapter 5 with the rest of chapter 2 update so there will be new stuff with chapter5 and the rework of rest of chapter 2 after that its only new stuff i hope, but its prob going to happen in 6-8 months if we are luckyHeyo!
I was thrilled to see SG while browsing the latest updates, but apparently that joy was short lived.
Not trying to hate, but I'm honestly baffled we got another rework instead of some new content.
Tried reading & searching the thread but couldn't find any relevant info - do we know when/if we'll be getting any new stuff, and if so in what quantity?
Also, I see there are new scenes, so how much new stuff is there anyway?
Once again, not trying to be a dik here, I'm genuinely interested as this is one of my favorite things on this entire website.
Cheers & thank you
If you pursue Bella's path then Nami will sorta let you know that she's in love with you sooner, at the lake in Ch 4. Otherwise she'll sorta tell you in Ch 4.5. Either works really but it looks like you've already confronted her about her feelings for you in Ch 4.5 based on that render. The Lake in Ch 4 though will be different with her depending on if you've kissed Bella.Nami must be the most beautiful and beautifully rendered character I've ever seen. All the characters here are beautiful, but there's something special about Nami.
Btw, about paths, are any paths more favourable towards the MC/Nami relationship? View attachment 2459914
I don't agree with you on this one. I think the changes were necessary in order to bring both Bella and the MC closer to the characters they are in the newest chapters. Even before the rework, there was a noticeable change in both of their behavior with the start of Ch3, which could be argued was the start of Summer's Gone 2.0. The MC became less of an edgelord, while Bella went from a psycho to a more relatable character that she consistently is from Ch3 onward. The older version might have been more emotional/raw, but those characters were not really the same as the ones we know from the new chapters. The back and forth between them is still pretty much there and with the rest of the rework I think the whole story is just going to flow so much better than it did before. That's another thing. Emotion. The whole reason many of the audience flocked to Bella was because of her interactions with the MC. It was somewhat obvious that she was putting up a front and wasn't really a bad person. Her interactions and dialogue in the previous version did a good job of showing that. Her interactions with the MC in this new version... don't carry the same emotional weight as the previous version. In the previous version, their interactions functioned as a buildup to her confrontation with MC at the mention of her sister. You could feel the pain and raw emotion in her dialogue, and when she choked MC, we, as the audience, knew how unstable she was. Now, in this rework, the overall feel of that scene is not there. The confrontation changed too much, and not in a way that benefits their subplot. The old scene showed everyone that maybe this girl is a little unstable. The new scene didn't do as good of a job conveying that. Oceans should have just upgraded the renders/art and fixed the grammar within the dialogue. All of those changes weren't needed. At least when it comes to that scene.
Maybe. There were some things added that I think deserved to be added though. On the porch, with Nojiko I feel is important to include, she's supposed to be very important to the MC after all. Adding the scene where Nami is caring and nurturing during his panic attack at school, important IMHO, as it is driven home pretty hard in Ch 1 that they care a lot for each other and are there for each other.I wish Ocean just improved the quality of the renders and left everything else as is.
I don't disagree with anything you've said, but this update tried to articulate too much of the story. IMO. It really destroyed much of the intrigue. It's still one of the best AVN's but damn.... this is a set back.Maybe. There were some things added that I think deserved to be added though. Most things I would say should've been left alone though and just made to look better graphically.
A critique I do have to one of the remade scenes - to me the scene where Nami jumps on your lap in your room, feels off now, the sexual tension build up is now removed where she gives you shit by asking if you have a boner, the MC gives her shit back by asking something about her nipple, you can't tell her she's cute(yea I understand that Nami doesn't believe the MC when he tells her that stuff but there are workarounds and dialogue maneuvering/reactions you could still do to make it fit), and the playfulness now feels a bit cheap, it feels way more like he's just blowing Nami off now and just wants to get rid of her, without any of the aforementioned stuff that was previously there in the old version. I feel like this being removed now doesn't set up the sexual tension buildup between them that comes on even stronger in later chapters.
You missed the point here I think. Bella and MC are different characters at the start. They both suffered a similar trauma that left deep wounds on their souls/psyche. The two of them meet at school, develop a relationship and both are able to start healing.I don't agree with you on this one. That means I have to start over from Chapter 1, right?Ch.4.5 Full

- Added 2 animations to Chapter 2.
- Added 17 new renders to Chapter 3. (Removed the Said Fight cinematic.)
- Re-rendered 300+ renders for Chapter 3.5. (More on this in a future Dev Log.)
- Added 6 new licensed music tracks.
- Finished removing all music that would've needed to be removed in the future. (Including the cinematics music.)
- Added 6 new licensed music tracks.
- Applied a big amount of proofreading to all Chapters.
does not matter what you pick at the cafe. she says its both ways.I don't disagree with anything you've said, but this update tried to articulate too much of the story. IMO. It really destroyed much of the intrigue. It's still one of the best AVN's but damn.... this is a set back.
It's like Ocean is trying to explain too much about the story in these scenes, and well, imo sometimes it's better left as a mystery.
Also i was sad when choosing to date Victoria and breaking Mila's heart in the cafe.... I meanThe original game never made this hardliner.
