A simple math. 4 chapters in 4 years.
28 chapters remain = 28 years.
Hope he doesn't plan to die until 2051. :HideThePain:
...except computers get faster/more efficient at rendering every iteration, and Ocean has openly spoken about acheiving certain goals to speed up rendering. I think productivity will increase considerably once the Steam release is out. Once that happens, SG has an extra income stream that can be immediately directed to improving workflows. Ocean seems to be pretty committed to these games. Steam will also act as a catalyst to reinvest in speed, as keeping the attention of the one off payments per chapter is a great incentive to keep going.

I feel confident Ocean knows how to reach the finish line.

I've heard this too many times, following the game since 2018. No amount of money or raw computing power is going to make this faster, especially making two games at once. Just look at many many popular games and how many updates per year you get from them. Not even pinkcake has a studio (or at least group of ppl ), yet has all the money and computing power he wants. Not to mention that nVidia is forgoing the gaming industry in favor of AI. But maybe someone here has some insight that they can share.

We've been hearing that for years. Even with this dream PC that he wants, he won't make release a chapter every 1-2 months.
And what's up with this Steam release? Is it really a cash cow? You gonna buy it once and it gets updated every chapter, right?
And it will be like 10-15$?

There's two different models for Steam releases: updated every chapter so buy once and buy whole game even if incomplete when purchased (Artemis uses this model), or release each season separately so you only get one season by purchase (Being A DIK uses this model). We don't know which model Ocean is going with.

The main thing that will decrease dev time will be the finishing of the rework which has probably added 3-6 months to each release since it started (and also made the original dev time for first three eps obsolete).

IMO if you are not a Patron, buying it for those 10-15€ wouldn't be so bad. You did get your "worth" in money back. Plus it supports the Ocean. I myself was patron long ago, since I'm not anymore, I'll buy it. But I don't expect much will change in the future. Everyone who does, is on some copium.

SG will be sold by season. So f.e episodes 1-5 will be season 1 and it will cost something around 15€, sorry can't remember the exact price but around that.

I'm not talking miracles, I'm just saying that the doom and gloom cynicism is also copium - people not daring to believe someone can actually lay out a plan and stick to it. SG has already got sufficient content to be considered a full game compared to the average game on this site (blue balling aside). So each season (I would expect) should be sold as a separate release. Ocean seems switched on enough to consider that - new music licensing will almost require it. But what Ocean decides, Ocean decides.

Ocean will still have roughly the same income stream from patreon etc after steam, and currently manages to continue development of the games, so any extra steam income can be put directly into investing in tools in the short term. Once steam is up, that is also pressure to deliver ongoing content to keep people making the one off purchases buy the next thing before they get bored. The thing about reinvestment, is that the biggest frustration as a content creator other than finance is not being able to create content at the speed of your inspiration. Every time Ocean loads renders, every time Ocean renders, there is currently frustration. Make a small change, frustration. When I'm working on content and I get frustrated I walk away and waste time, so I don't get frustrated by the progress bar inching across the screen. Reducing the frustration will mean more productivity.

We'll see how Ocean manages, but these worst case scenarios of "we'll be 97 before season two is finished, waaah" "Ocean's grandchildren will be slaves in a rendering farm, waah" are a tad ridiculous. Ocean's already faster than that (well, unless you're already over 95).

Didn't you know? In a few years, they will merge Blender and Stable Diffusion into a single project called Blended Diffusion.
There, the creator has to provide just a few graphic samples of each character, art style, some decor details and that's it. The software will be able to generate scenes with these characters using a textual description. And they will provide a huge rendering farm for adult novels only where you can rent top-notch rendering equipment and pay a cent for an image or several, the price will depend on the quality and resolution of the image. Access to this farm will be integrated into Blended Diffusion, so it can simply redirect scene descriptions directly to the farm and get freshly baked renders from there. Why do you think Ocean started experimenting with Blender?

His name is Nika.
a name of Persian origin
No. Ancient greek. It came up in Persia as Alexander the Great rolled over them.
Yeah, nike means "victory" in ancient greek, but you got a wrong etymology, this time.

Nika is a slavic diminutive form from names as Nikita or Nikola or any name ending in -nika (Veronika).

BUT I think Ocean named him and Nami after some One Piece characters.

Step mom... And if the things stay as they are now, probably no sex between Nojiko and MC... Unfortunately...
*Fortunately. I'm not one to kink-shame, but hopefully, their relationship stays normal for the rest of the story. Too many stories on this website involve a main character that sleeps with their entire family. While I cannot speak for everyone, Nojiko being a normal parental figure is almost a breath of fresh air considering the kind of stories that are normally on this website. It's one of the things that sets SG aside from your standard, run-of-the-mill AVN. I know it's wishful thinking at this point(especially if this last rework was anything to go by), but hopefully, their relationship doesn't changeღ

Yeah, well, the slavics jumped from tree to tree (it's a joke!!!) as the ancient Greeks (Mycenaean Greece) named their sons Nika 3500 years ago. "Veronika" is derived from the Macedonian name Berenike (from Greek pherenike) and the slavics got the name from the Macedonians which are a Greek tribe. So, you can twist and turn it however you want. It comes from ancient Greek.

Sometimes I think about the fact that I'm utterly shocked when the family is not among the LI and I wonder how far I've fallen...

Then I go play a heavily Mom themed VN to remind myself that being a fuck up is my best feature.

But truthfully, I'm glad Nojiko has her own romance with a seemingly nice guy and his psycho daughters ; warms mah heart.

I agree - I like Nojiko (and Nick, hopefully) being above the 'let's compete with our kids for nudity and craziness.'

The hot tub scene with the MC and three beautiful women was a great way to chat after the tennis match and get ready for the visit to Victoria's.

The scene would have changed dramatically if you added in a naked Nojiko and Nick.

I can't speak for the future but there are plenty of MILF options (Amber being the Premier option in my mind) so I hope that Noji remains her son's quasi confidant and authority figure - someone he wants to provide for because of everything she has done to provide for him.
