Very good points! Maybe Stephan was more chill and with time started to turn into what hes now, or is indeed what you said of Bella projecting and all the perception about him not being the truth. And i don't remember the exact lines about it, but maybe Stephan's son was the one who pressed the charges on Mila and dragged his father's name into it, because all the rejection thing...him dragging Mila into this without any kind of proof kinda proves he is not over what happened in the past.There's been a fair bit of discussion about this, a bunch of random avenues to consider:
- everything we know about Stefan being a perv is pretty much from Bella, who has the abuse thing for poor people almost on par with Mario's friends, so we can't decide what is exaggeration vs fact
- Stefan has a wife who is not social, so Bella's thing about him wanting Amber might or might not be true, it might be Bella's projection
- Mario defended Bella and Mila against Melanie Ceril, and Mila admits he wasn't a bad guy back then
- Stefan owns a sculpture of golden underwear - oh, definite perv confirmed
- Stefan and Mario are evil regardless, because they get Mila charged for no reason, without any proof
- Stefan still has a decent relationship with Zoey, based on how he talks about her and Bella getting along, the implication is Zoey will be at his gala thing, so even if evil, he's not that evil, probably less evil than the Zanes, or Zoey has gone evil, we don't know if she's still with Katie in SG
Completely speculative below:
- Regards Zoey, I guess we'll see what is canon in WiaB if she get's revealed - did she start a porn company, and is Stefan part of that? Is Emilia an ex-star of their company?
- Because we think of William as a hero in WiaB, we tend to think the Zanes are a force of 'good' in the Wollust area. This might not be true at all. They might be the prime pervs/corruptors after removing all competition (devil's advocate position). This might mean that we see Stefan is still all chumy with the Zanes at the gala, with all the high society
- Stefan at dinner has an innocent teacher from a MOR, a Coach from ZPR and his son goes to a different college, we don't know who the other guy at dinner was. Is Stefan organising something behind the backs of the college leaderships?
- one bit of speculation about Stefan's work, not sure if there's anything that explicitely states what he does - in WiaB, the Holgersons own a 'paper' company that needs to be digitised. That suggests a newspaper/magazine to me. Maybe he is Nicole's boss, and that's why he is having dinner with other college workers, to scout stories?
As a character, he's currently manipulative, but we don't know why, so an enigma, who has aged like shit rather than fine wine in 20 years

The paper business made me remember from the TV series "Heroes", with the "Primatech Paper" serving as front to The Company obscure business.
About Zoey, if shes not with Katie anymore and the canon is that she left her to be with William then this would explain her joining Stephan's side even with him being evil.

Yes, it's a puzzle right now. I'm currently thinking that Mario wasn't one of those rejected - he's hanging back in the bullying, while the girl, Antony and the unnamed guy do most of the insults. I'm pretty sure the charges have been sought by Stefan, but it's hard to say. Stefan does mention Mila's mom I think, so maybe Stefan has a dirty past, and he's aiming for leverage against Mila's mom. But it's all speculation right now. Vanessa seems too interested in Mila for the charges to be a simple extension of the bullying, I'm sure there's a bigger reason.
I'm sure we'll get more on this, Bella has to visit Stefan, maybe that will be in S2Ch1 and we'll find out more.
You clearly have been following through the story XD
What are some specific examples though? It can be any character since for me even with context its not easy to tell what they know and such.

Has anyone made a family tree chart for the characters in the Oceanverse? It'll help out the newbies a lot imo.
Fairly impossible at this point, as most of the SG characters' lineage are only speculations or even entirely unknown.

As you mentioned, the book club reveals there are many things that Noji knows and her friends know. So Amber has known about Nika for a while. Amber and Bella are friends with Zoey Holgerson, Stefan's sister, who used to be (mayb still is) Katie's gf. Noji and Katie have history, Jenna observing how things are playing out with Katie and Noji staring daggers shows that so many are aware of what Noji did for Nika. Emilia clearly knows the Zanes, and tries to catch Katie off guard to reveal why she's there.
Nia is a good example - she knew Nika from before Summer disappeared. If you haven't visited her, she tells the story when you go hang out after the movie night.
Sasha's earring and Nami's earring - they're most likely Leia (from WiaB's) earring split. Why? Sasha seems to know Nika from earlier and he senses something about her when they first meet, as well as Sasha seems to have her circle of friends hovering around Nika almost like keeping tabs on him - her redhead friend who checks on NIka when he has a panic attack can be seen in the background many times, Sasha and she break up the fight with Sai just by walking in, so Sasha seems to be observing him well before he really notices her.
The earring might be more about Nami, but seeing Nami got the earring before Summer disappeared, it's kinda important about NIka's past as well. Ayua tries to deflect Sasha asking the questions about Nami's earring, but we also have Vanessa asking about it.
Noji knew the Frohn's, Vic and Maja's parents.
So there is quite a spiderweb of connections with history to untangle. It's hard to see it in one play through, because you don't know what characters are important the first time. Do a second run through the game, try different choices, and look in the background for clues.
At the moment, we're left with a lot of questions, but these are all setting the scene. I think the information about Nika's past will have more dots added and slowly things will come in focus. I don't think Ocean will be boring and have a big monolgue from someone revealing it all.
The Zane's are important people in Ocean's games, so if you haven't played the stuff that's available from WiaB, it's worth playing that to understand who the Holgersons are, Who the Zanes are, and we should see the Petrovas as well, almost certain we've seen the main Revera in WiaB unless Ocean's changed too much.

It's an extreme word, but the way she and her posse sit at your table before you know them, the redhead checking in on you when you're having a panic attack, the way she notices the eraser if you hold Vics hand, the way she happens to appear at the fight (Sai can't really do anything against the daughter of one of the owners), the way she stares if you go the the gym with someone, she's often in the background or her friends are.

I must admit that these are interesting coincidences, based on this theory Sasha could catch up in season 2
Now having a better idea of what some of the characters are doing, it’s certainly hard to know why they are acting as such. For all we could known it hows beyond Summer. Maybe kid Nika was breaking little girls hearts and now they are back to get him XD
