Yep that's what I thought when she said that line in the game during my first playthrough, that if she doesn't think you or other people care too much about her maybe she'll just go that route, but if you have some kind of a stat check and it's above a certain level, hopefully she'll check in with MC on it so the player can intervene before she becomes a sex worker, lol.
