There are a lot of haters here who don't think much of Ocean's work, but there's no denying that the themed renders are absolute awesomeness.
Without a doubt, my favourite is the first render.
Not only because of Sasha herself but also her environment in this render is great.
I looks like the aftermath on an incantation that went horribly wrong.
Well, I can't put a finger on it but somehow reminds me that scene of a movie.
Im the opposite, im not a hater at all (bmw guy would call me a fanboy) but i couldnt give less of a fuck about wallpapers (or bonus side stories).
Imo thats all just entirely useless timewaste, every non-canon render is wasted time, the only good thing about is that ocean maybe gets new experiences/creativity due to it.
I really dont get the obsession with bonus renders or side stories, there are enough pretty pictures on the internet. The stories, characters and choices is what makes avn's special not pretty pictures.
AVN developement speed is already slow as fuck even considering the fastest devs, i dont get why most of the good devs additionally waste time with lots of stuff like that but it seems like the demand is kinda there even tho i really dont get it.

I think wallpapers are a way to be connected with Patreons, like some type of reward while people wait for the chapter, like a way to give something while people wait, i don´t know if i´m explaining myself good because i´m sleepy.
But yeah, i´m with you, when devs make wallpapers i just see them i react to them with a emoji which defines how i feel, if i like, gets me horny or that stuff and i just leave them, i don´t use them for nothing.
But for some people could be important, i don´t know, like a way to stay in contact with the game or things like that, just imagine if Ocean doesn´t give people this wallpapers, sooo many months with just dev logs, some people will go crazy

probably because AVNs devs are creative people, special renders are a form of channel their creativity when the process of making the game is too boring, at least is my take on it. Also is a way of keep the community alive between updates and offer a treat to patreons, it may be "wasted" time but I think is a shallow way of seing things.

You are totally right. I, for myself, can't stand any kind of Christmas-, Halloween-, Easterupdate for any game. As you said, no main story progress and wasted dev time. I was always glad that Ocean has never done similar shit like this.
On the other side, Ocean estimated 6k-7k renders for SG alone and we still have no render count for WIAB, or I'm wrong?
Let's be generous and assume only 5k -6k renders for WIAB. That makes roughly 11k-13k renders in total. If we count the 4(?) themed sets, that are roughly 40-50 renders.
That's 0.31 - 0.39% of both games.
To be honest, I have doubt that this makes a real difference for the games, 3 days more or less are not the end of the world.
And we have to consider that Ocean always suck with his release dates.

Why did you bring up the scam topic? And what does the speed of work have to do with it? We were actually talking about something else. If you're wondering why Ocean started being called a scammer, the first time it happened was a few years ago because of the situation with video cards. Although it doesn't matter anymore, because he gets caught lying every year, and it doesn't surprise anyone anymore.
Actually, I didn't criticize anyone just now. Are you saying that Ocean is doing the same as other developers?

I don't care much for wallpapers either, but let's be honest, the lighting and composition for those are top notch. they're absolutely gorgeous.
I imagine those wallpapers to be some kind of process to refertilize his creativity when he's bored. I can imagine working years upon years on a single project can make it pretty monotonous with its ups and downs in the creative process.
I don't think the wallpapers are only for patreons, it's for him too. to avoid creative burn out I guess. That's how I see it.

And i find more hot the version before the rework, old Nami was so fucking hot for me but after the rework she is just fine for me (still hot but not like the old Nami version), i think because of the censorship of some scenes and because when i played it i did it without the famous incest patch.

Cannot agree more.
In my opinion, these bonus renders and pin-ups and whatever are nothing but a gimmick created to justify the active subscription model in the 2-11 months of the year where the dev doesn't put out an update. Fuck that! Wouldn't wipe my ass with any render no matter how good it is. My interest lies in the story and characters. Not renders, polls, devlogs (even those containing tax updates) or 10 second animation loops.
I'd rather sub to 10 devs once a year in the month their content is released than keep a 10 month sub to a single dev.
The exception would be if the dev were someone I know irl and really wanted to support. But I don't know any of those. No hate to anyone who wants to show extended support to a dev and enjoy the rewards, I just don't see the value in that.
