Okay, that seems odd as I can't replicate it locally.

Here's how you can fix it:
1. I have attached a file that allows you to enable the developer console. Put it in SurvivalGuide-Day8-pc/game folder.
2. Launch the game, open the save where you're stuck at that mini-game.
3. Press Shift + O to open up the console.
4. (OPTIONAL) Type tools_used and send me the screenshot of the output.
5. Type jump day6_radio_continue then press ESC to exit the console.

That should skip the mini game.

I found another bug where sandbox crashes if you finish a quest at night (Talk with Hannah, Check on Eva).
This will be fixed soon and released along with the Android version.
The tools minigame is going to be fixed too.

Will the fixes break any 'started from scratch' DAY8 saved games , or should I hold off on playing until the bug fix is released?

It won't. Just make sure not to trigger "Talk with Hannah" and "Check on Eva" quests at night.
I will probably release the bugfix tomorrow.
