First of all, thank you for the game. Great CG AIs, love them. It's also a nice game to play to kill some time without thinking too much
Here are a few observations that might be worth taking in account in the future:
- I had one of my girls serve a customer, got the message he left unsatisfied and the assigned girl was gone. I immediately closed the game and loaded the save. Everything was fine there but I don't know if you can get the girl back if you move on to the next day.
- As you probably already know by all these comments here, the mining minigame need some work. A counter how many times you can dig would be really helpful. If you try to get to a specific location you don't count your actions and if you don't know the maximum you have available it's just frustrating. The map is partly randomized and with you being stuck on the stairs pattern you're pretty much screwed if you're unlucky and took a wrong path or if the map is just generated in a way that you end up in a hole because you couldn't plan your moves as most of the map is in the dark.
- Putting multiple girls on one spot (resting) in the inn often results in dropping girls back to where they were as navigation isn't precise enough. You also have to sort your girls first to the right panel and then assign them to customers on the next screen. I'd use the right plane as the resting spot as girls won't do anything there anyway. And you can afterwards freely assign them to customers or a task in the inn without having to sort them here and there. And there is enough space to easily drag their portraits there.
- I suggest creating a fast travel system. A simple button to go to specific places (mine, lumber mill, maybe fortune teller) would help immensely and would avoid this click marathon to get somewhere.
- Skills are either usefull (Smarty Pants) or they aren't (Twinkle Toes). Especially at the beginning. If you're unlucky that really hampers your girls character development. For now it would probably be enough if you can reroll the result for a few exp instead of closing the game and reloading to get a decent selection. For later I suggest a skilltree so you can develop your characters the way you want and so that you can see what you have available later for the powerful perks.
- I'm currently at perk costs of 1280. I assume they will double unlimited. Maybe put in a cap (if there is actually none).
- Customers for sex are set with the required stats (45 Dancing etc.). It means you have to get specific stats for every girl to even serve that customer. That very much favors specific stats (high dancing and serving, but cleaning and cooking in the end ist pretty useless). I'd keep the values but randomize the stat whenever a customer enters (45 dancing could also be 45 cleaning or 45 cooking) to provide some variety.
- The 'ultimate' perks for serving and cleaning (double chance for a skill gain) very much prefer these professions if they are not available for the other professions as well (maybe I just choose the wrong skills until now to see the others?).
- At some points gaining a skillpoint will be much more worth than serving a customer. You have to pay the same amount of exp as the value the skill will reach for it. If you're at 60+ the chance to increase that skill is much more worth than serving a customer that provides you with 30 xp - except if you're going for perks. But with costs of 1280+ that's not really a funny way to play - probably something for later.
- A working 'skip all' button with a short overview of stats changes, maybe in a table would be nice.
- Before buying the upgrade for the inn so that the girls can serve customers I strongly recommend you provide some info or put in a stat check so that the player knows of the requirements for serving customers (min stats to satisfy at least the most undemanding customer and that the girl has enough depravity to do so).
Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to the next updates.
