Nope, this is a Toyota Supra MK4.
Lol, you can tell I'm not a car guy.

Fun fact: this supra asset does not have different shaders for lights. You cannot switch the car's lights on/off. And the funny part is that the headlights are always on, the tailligts are always off. Here, I used tiny point lights, positioned them inside the taillamp and here we go.
So here's another issue I can suggest a technique to help with!

In Daz it's possible to use the geometry editor to select subsections of a model geometry and assign them to a new/different surface. Then in the model's materials setup you can give that surface a different shader config to the rest of the connected object. *OR* even better in your case: copy the existing material, assign the copy to your new surface, but then tweak it e.g. change the surface emission settings to make the taillights glow / turn off the headlamps.

Thanks, it is much better now... :D

Oh i Forgot to ask, how much time it took you to learn daz3d and from where did you learned it. I have just completed Python programing theory.

I wouldn't say I alreary learned everything, but I installed it and started clicking every button... :D
When I bumped into problems, I usually watched youtube videos or browsed forums to figure it out. I'd say, it needs a few weeks, or maybe more depending on how much time you can spend on.
However I had an automotive youtube channel earlier, so I have some experience in photo and videography. That helps with image composition, and some settings.

I see. ASUS Dual Radeon RX 6600 8 GB GDDR6 RAM PCIe 4.0 Dual Fans Desktop Graphic Card. I am planning to buy this, Just earlier bought 1 TB SSD.

Never been much of a supra guy, always more of a S30z guy(if only they didn't cost like 7k for a roller here), but man that orange looks good on that supra. When the MC gets rich, is he going to take off the wrap and paint the car? (I assume its wrapped because of the engine bay being a different color to the car)
Unfortunately these car assets are not really detailed, so I couldnt figure out how to change the color of the engine bay. But this is not a huge problem, engine bays are usually have different colors in racecars.

Yes, I want to change or upgrade the paintjob, but maybe this car will remain orange. Sue (one of the girls) is a graphic designer in the story, so she will help MC with the car cosmetics and paintjobs. But there's no available DAZ asset for these scenes, so I'll have to find those first. Wrapping is also a possibility.

I'm not an expert, but I wouldn't recommend any Radeon GPUs for DAZ. You'll need Iray engine to make nice, photorealistic renders, and it only works with nvidia GPUs. I think, a 3060 is the cheapest entry level gpu, it has 12GB VRAM and after the new nvidia gpu series came out, I think you can find one for a "reasonable" price on the market now.

Thanks bro.... you saved me a lot of trouble because i was eyeing that one for quite some time...... I will choose more carefully from now on.

Agreed:
- NVidia GPU is required for Daz because it uses the Nvidia developed Iray engine
- 3060 12GB is far and away the best value for Daz right now: money vs render time vs VRAM size. They are not making new ones anymore so you will need to get one from the 2nd hand market, but there are a lot of units out there so prices are reasonable.

Okay, now I'm really starting to lose my mind... The past few days were extremely painful.

So there's this scene, a big night race event, MC's first one with his own car.
Here's the problem in a nutshell: MC and Tommy(best friend) arrive at the place, they look for a parking spot. They get out of their cars, and Tommy leaves MC to find the event organizer. In the next moment, suddenly a girl is screaming from the background: "OH MY GOD! IS THAT A SUPRA???" MC turns around and starts talking with the girl. Yes, she's LI, this is how they meet... based on a meme :D

But whenever I get to the point where I add the girl to the scene, DAZ eats all the memory and turns off denoising. That's crucial, bc without denoising renders take significantly longer. Probably a lot of you guys are familiar with this problem. So I thought about it, and decided to rebuild the complete scene. Again, the scene is HUGE! It has to feel like there are hundreds of peolple so it took almost 2 days to build the new scene.

First, I thought it was the enviroment asset that was unoptimised, because honestly it looked awesome. Detailed, small lights and everything... In the story few days before this, MC attends to a night race as a spectator, so I wanted to do 2 different scenes. I posted pictures from that race here, so that went well without any problem. And that one also had 2 city blocks of enviroment, tons of ppl, cars, etc. So I thought I just need to build a similar sized, but more industrial looking scene, from the same asset that worked before. Unfortunately, it wasn't the enviroment, because it's the same shit again after I add the girl to the scene... So probably it's the hair again. (I used different clothes this time to exclude those.)

First version (I like this one waaaaay more, but has those weird black rectangle things in some places...):

Second version (I rage closed daz after denoising switched off again, so I don't have the one with the girl...):

both of these are dead ends at the moment... It's 6:51 AM here now so I'm really tired, and even more disappointed...
But it is what it is... tomorrow I'll try to solve this shit somehow. (Or set my computer on fire :D)

And, just to have some positive news at the end: I think it (almost) looks like its moving. The rear wheels aren't great, but not a bad first try.

dev update March 2025:
In the last weeks, I had a lot of IRL things to do, which kept me away from my project (in a nutshell: funeral, illness).
But, I tried to spend every free time I have on this despite the circumstances... The renders are finally ready. The prologue contains almost 1000 renders, so it was quite a challange.

After spending hundreds of hours in DAZ studio, I think I learned the basics, but there's always room for improvements, and I made a list about the things I want to improve in.

  1. More consistent lighting: Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's completely all over the place, so I'll have to fix this and maintain a constant good quality, no matter if its inside, outside, daytime, nighttime or whatever.
  2. More precise posing: I feel sometimes it gets repetitve, or simply just not good. Plus clothes clipping through and stuff...
  3. "Rubber dick syndrome": I use dicktator for my MC, but the texture is awful. I've found a solution for the future, a texture asset for dictator, which will be implemented in the upcoming updates.
  4. Unrealistic teeth: Either too grey or unrealisticly white. This is also a lighting issue, so improving my lighting skills will also help this problem.
  5. Hair problems: Hairs are probably the most complex assets of the software. Good looking, realistic hair assets are EXTREMELY resource hungry, so they are basically unusable. Even if you have a 4090/5090 or whatever top of the line GPU, you can't make a proper scene with more than 6-8 people, it will eat up all the memory you have.
Obviously, low res hairs are usable, but ugly. So I'm still looking for nicely optimized hair assets.
Currently I'm working on the code side. Fortunately, Renpy is quite easy to use, and I'm making a good progress with it. But I don't wanna jynx it...

Some early menu design, testing:

In the meantime, I'm setting up my patreon and discord aswell, so future updates, and dev notes will be available there more frequently. These platforms will be published when I get to release the prologue. This means I'll have a new name as a publisher, or developer:

I really appreciate your support and the DM's, you helped me a lot, and now we are getting really close to the point what everyone is waiting for.

Not holding back with model haha, only fine stuff!
And it seems you can do crowd scenes just fine, thats awesome, most games cant do it and the places end up seeming like an abandoned town where only the story characters live :HideThePain:
