Unity - The Last Barbarian [v0.9.39] [Viktor Black]

This is a game I really really wanted to love, but just isn't up to scratch. I do feel a little bad about criticizing it for its flaws, because it's in that awkward spot of doing many things at once, yet not enough.

Character customization is great - but you're gonna have to deal with certain hairstyles and sizes clipping through clothes.
Combat is...there, but it's pretty much basic skyrim combat that wouldn't pass in 2025.
Plenty of exploring to do, but that just means there's plenty more bugs to encounter!
Varied enemy types, but not enough variety in a certain area to make it feel worthwhile to fight said enemies - and usually you'd just want to run past them because of how mundane the combat is.
Many sex poses, but also not enough variety in them that you'd want to try to see them all. Also the same moan/noise track plays through each of them, adding to the blandness.
Pregnancy is available! But regardless of what creature impregnates the MC, she's going to go through the same egg-laying animation. What's the point?
There's some semblance of a story there, but good luck getting through it without encountering 50 bugs along the way that make you say "fuck it, I'm just using cheats and ignoring the story".

I think the problem boils down to the dev setting unrealistic goals and trying to do WAY too much, honestly. If they just made the world smaller and slowed down on the "story mode" stuff, they might have more time for bugfixes, adding more soundtracks, ambience, sex animations, etc. I'd gladly give up a lot of this content in exchange for having the remaining content be of a higher quality.

I was quite disappointed. One of the main reasons I downloaded this game was for the pregnancy, but the pregnancy is the same no matter what knocks her up, and she never makes any comments about it. She doesn't care. Also there's stats that show you as a virgin in the beginning, but that may as well not exist.

The sex scenes are nothing special. They're good enough.

The gameplay is boring, but that doesn't really effect my rating. I'm just happy it's easy to cheat. That's what I care about in these games.

How in the hell is this game rated above 1 or 2 stars I don't get it. It's just not good. This is so bad that in the literal first area of the game If you loose the game bugs itself preventing you from continuing unless you restart the whole thing. The animations are terrible, inverted mouse in animations, glitchy controls, camera resetting, bad combat and the list goes on. At this point you might as well go and play a Skyrim mod.

Let me get straight to the point with this game: It's dogshit. I know porn games aren't always on the same level as non-porn games, but you still have to TRY to make a good game. I'm not gonna go over highlights like my other reviews, the only way this game could improve is if it was turned into an entirely different game. There is no saving this game.

Alright, quick stuff first:

• Sometimes the mouse is just inverted and you can do jack shit about it.
• When the story isn't generic, it's directionless.
• Visuals are awful. There's just no coherence between assets, you can see the hair models clearly don't match up. Subjectively speaking, I'd get aroused more by no visuals at all.
• You can't mute the low quality moaning sounds during sex. Audio is on or off, period.
• Grammar is non-existent. You don't even need to play the game to see this, look at the game's preview images.
• There's no manual save and the game doesn't tell you when your progress saves. You'll just randomly lose progress.

The worst part of this game I got to was the combat. You know, normally, a game will flesh out it's primary way conflicts are resolved, usually through combat. This is not fleshed out. This is what videogames look like to someone who's never played a videogame in their life.

Ok, so let me describe fighting. When combat starts, you walk up to the enemy, mash attack until they die (or you die)... and that's all you can really do. But wait, there's more- wait, it'd be less actually. Well whatever, there's also no gear progression of any kind, all weapons do the same damage and you have them all unlocked from the start, at least for a good couple hours. So it manages to be WORSE than those autobattler games where there's basically no player input at all, at least those games have big flashy numbers!

Don't bother with this game, at all. Don't even play it, it'll take you right out of any horny mood you're in.

I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing in this game, but I had a great time wandering around exploring and finding things to fuck and get fucked by.

Gameplay: You get given quests and it’s pretty free if and how you go about resolving them. Creatures chase you around to punch you, knock you down, and have their way with you. Fortunately, their sperm brings you back to life! So you can do it all over again. You can punch them back, or chop them with axes, but the camera angles are so bad I just let everything bang me. Creature Designs: I’m not too demanding. I see wolfmen with 10 inch dicks, I’m happy enough. That said, some of the designs feel antiquated. Like, remember those old Svarog porn animations from 2005? Like-a-dat

Animations: Much like the models, the animation feels dated. It’s pretty much a thrust loop in whichever orifice got chosen. They’re still decent and the developer makes up for it by providing plenty of angles and sometimes even x-ray.

The H: Y’know, dated or not, it’s sexy. Most creatures have a variety of different scenes and a variety of angles within that scene. Some of the angles are even FPOV, which I’m a sucker for. Don’t judge. There’s also a lot of scenes.

One More: This is where the game excels. It rewards you for wandering around and trying all sorts of nonsense. It rewards you by finding new ways for creatures to fuck you silly, that is! Open a treasure chest, bam, tentacle up my ass. Explore a hole in the wall, bam, full of tentacles. Let a goblin knock me down near this random pillar, surprise, new scene I’d never seen before of the goblin fucking me against the pillar.

Overall, for a game made by one guy as a labor of love, it’s pretty damn neat and sexy. Sometimes buggy and those camera movements can be infuriating, but fun. And if you’re a slut fu master, you can play it one-handed.

I don't like using the words best game or worse game because taste is subjective but this is my favorite sex game.

The reason I like most is because sex is part of all gameplay. There is a normal sex by death punishment, common on female protagonist games, but also is very story driven, you can do some npcs or pay in cash for services. So it really fits what I want in a porn game, to be porn.. not a game with porn in it.

The game has lots of stories, different characters , mini games and a lore behind it, all this tied in a protagonist that sometimes likes and sometimes doesn't like being used. This game also have lots of fetishes, creatures, positions, uses, places POVs and things to do/fuck

I know the game misses polish, the menu, the options and some gameplay is clunky.. but its not a game made by an studio or with a team hired doing lots but a single guy in Ukraine delivering what he can during power shortage.

He's showing on his patreon and discord the development, remaking the game now in Unreal Engine.. and I hope it gets even better. Only time will tell.

- Downloaded the game, no issues there.
- Launched the game, also no issues.... Provided you don't have the "cheat" file that is STILL LINKED to the OP for some reason, this WILL stop your game launching.
- Go into options menu, turn off music/sfx.
- Launch new game, music/sfx are at 50-60% volume... Ok, annoying, I turn them off via the "cheats & settings" tab (what an odd tab to have by the way).
- Notice immediately that mouse is inverted, no worries, open "cheats & settings" again....huh, no mouse options. Quit to main menu, find "mouse inversion" option is OFF, so the fucking default is to have it inverted? Ok spiderman (motherfucker must live on the ceiling).
- Turn mouse inversion on (fuck that's weird), go back to game..... MOUSE STILL INVERTED.
- Restart game, mouse option back to default. Turn it ON again. Go into game....Nope, still inverted.

So no matter what "options" you do at the main menu, NONE of them matter.
As soon as you start a game, that, for some reason, has its OWN options, ignoring the menu, thus leaving you unable to un-invert the mouse.

After checking the forum here, people just recommend to "restart until it works" yeh no, I'm good.

So that's as far as I got, I won't be back until the options actually work.

i played this a couple of months ago. had gamebreaking bug. so i stopped playing waiting for new patches... new patches came... same gamebreaking bug... like how incompetent the devs are that there are so many patches yet you can encounter the most basic bug in the first 5minutes which can stop your progress.. it's insane how lazy and bad they are at making a game.

the bug is as follows: if you escape your cell, there is a chest. it contains your weapon (and clothes)... soon you will probably die because there is a huge trap which instakills you (a big monster eats you).. you have the option to restart... if you click restart you respawn in your cell like nothing happened... but if you open your cell THE CHEST IS EMPTY. so you cannot get your weapon back. and guess what, in the next 1minute to proceed to next area, you need your weapon to kill a big brown slime cuz it's immune to your basic attacks and it blocks the door entrance.... how the hell did this bug was not noticed by devs for so many months(years?) now. it's insane...

now, if you quit the game, and press continue, then you spawn with your weapons, so you can continue. utter garbage game. with lazy devs like that it will never be a good game. fighting is basic, usually it's sex on defeat but there are other sex scenes too without the defeat. there are other bugs too but there is no reason to write about them because they will never be fixed and this "game" is a waste of time. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. hence the 1/5 rating. (not to mention sex noises are like 10 times louder than game noises. "nice" surprise)

Well, after sticking to this game for years, hoping it will get better, it did not. TLB is not a bad game per say, but it is very outdated, and extremely jank. It covers a lot of extreme kink stuff which is super, but these individual snippets of content just can't make up for the overall gameplay experience, which is very lacking. Fun for a while, boring after a few hours or days.

THE GOOD:
- Interesting and hot character
- Pretty okay story
- Insane amounts of kinky content

THE BAD:
- Probably the worst placeholder combat I've ever seen
- Extremely bad controls
- Lack of gameplay settings

THE UGLY:
- Pretty outdated graphics and models
- Running from A to B simulator

OVERALL: 6/10, even after years of updates

TLDR: open world, 3d porn game, with hot protagonist that gets corrupted and fucks a ton of stuff. Hot. Bit buggy at times but hey, it's unity. Bonus: a working pregnancy system


Very strang start, you don't get an intro, you have no clue whats exactly happening. That's part of the story though. So you go through the game killing or fucking enemies, prostituting yourself or trying to stay on the uncorrupted side (boorring) -

It's unity, graphics are actually quite good, at least in regards of the main character. She's hot and customizable, to a degree. Sex is animated, rarely you have a lot of poses BUT you can go full 360° camera which makes it definitly hotter.
Graphics in general are meh, but hey, it's not the next assassins creed and it doesnt need to be.

open world is fun, the teleport (and "respawn")system are a bit flawed but usually work good (sometimes it resets the character customization, which isnt a big problem).

The game has multiple storylines, one mainquest and multiple longer sidequests. It lacks specific questtexts, which is kinda fun to find out, but can be a bit infuriating, so I would like a "spoiler" function which makes questtexts longer and tells you where to go and what to do exactly, since sometimes it's a bit cryptic.

All in all the storylines are fun, the Barbarian is hot and it's fun to see her get fucked. Play it, it beats most of the usual VN games on here by far

If you ever wanted a perfect 3D game with 5 out of 5 animations and a female protagonist where you can whore and prostitute yourself, this is the game for you.

This website has many games under Unreal Engine tag but ALL of them pale in comparison to this one, because they lack content or essential mechanics. THIS is the game, and it is played like one, and not some mere scene viewer.

Sometimes I come back to this game because it has a lot of diverse content, and that's great! But I would like a remaster on Unreal Engine 5 with updated animations and beautiful graphics with lighting, because the current visuals are outdated. However, I have many desires.

Loads of jank, horrible controls even after so many updates, technically making the game unplayable. H-scenes are nice, but the ammount of nonsense you need to go through to actually have fun is just absurd, skip this trash please.

probably the most slavjank porn game i've ever played, to steal a term.

it's not that TLB is bad, it's just... weird. the level progression is constantly changing to keep things fresh, but in strange ways that don't seem to jive with the fact that this game is, on its face, a third-person hack-and-slash. there's an entire level that's basically a point-and-click adventure in a haunted mansion. not bad, just weird.

it also controls weird -- the camera has personal space issues (like everything else in the game), the player character only kind of aims at the mouse and the mouse itself is inverted by default. most of these problems are sort of fixable, but it's just something you gotta deal with.

porn-wise, the the writing is below par even for a porn game. the worldbuilding might as well have been ripped from the Unity asset store wholesale, but if you're playing this for more than ten minutes, you do not care about writing. it's a video game AND it's porn -- Romero is double right.

i dunno. i don't really like TLB, but i recognize that it's a long-term passion project by a single dev who continues to push out updates, and the jankiness is kinda charming in its own way. for what it's worth, i never ran into a single crash or gamebreaking bug in my entire playthrough.

would recommend if you have relatively vanilla tastes for being a pervert on a porn media forum and can get past all the jank.

Last played: 0.9.27. WE NEED MORE GAMES LIKE THIS! It is nice to see adult games like these around. It is refreshing to get out of the comfort zone of Renpy VNs. The game offers a good length of playtime and decent enjoyment in nearly all aspects. There are multiple intertwined medieval fantasy questlines to invest yourself in. It is not a RPG yet but comes to close. Yes combat is janky but this is not the focus of the game, I appreciate the dev for even including freeroam combat. I also want to praise the dev, he has certainly invested himself in his work, listening to feedback, bug reps and constantly putting out content. So I am thinking about supporting him through subscriptions and I will definitely buy this game on Steam when it's out. Why four stars after all this praise? It needs polishing and fixes yet, but I can increase my score when it's fully out who knows.

Hopefully, these kind of games will be the future. I don't want developers to stop making the Renpy games we get now, but I would love to see more of these open-world, sandbox games getting made.

PROS
The open-world/sandbox element is way more engaging (to me) than other games we're currently getting. It immerses you into the world and, in my opinion, is more fun than reading through a lot of text to get to the good stuff.

Lots and lots and lots of sex scenes. Yes, people may complain that it's just the same positions but the character model is flipped, but I don't care. I think each character/monster you have sex with in the story feels different (even if you've seen the position 5 times already) because of the personality of the characters and how they act during the scenes.

Lots to do. There are many different quests in the game and working through them leads to a lot of different and fun scenes. This isn't an open world game where you can get bored after a couple of hours, there is so much that can be done and found throughout the world. I'm sure I missed a lot of scenes in this game and I played through it twice!

Cons
The cons are pretty much what everyone else is saying, but to me they didn't outweigh the positives in this game.

Bad combat. The combat is pretty boring and very easy, also, when you die you can just come straight back by having sex with whatever killed you. This wasn't a big issue for me since I just wanted to see the sex scenes anyway, but for others I can see it being a problem.

BUGS! Yeah, there are a lot of bugs in this game, but I only found 1 game breaking one which is why I played through it again (Jerry getting stuck in the other dimension so I couldn't finish off the quest). Other bugs can be found, but none of them caused me to stop playing the game or annoyed me.

Character Customisation. I think this could be better, but at least it's in the game! Personally, I would just like more hairstyles adding in. There are a lot of girls in the game with different hairstyles, so I don't know why they couldn't give the main character those if you choose to. I'm mainly mad about this because a girl in the brother has a haircut I would like the character to have and I can't :'(

Story. The story is kind of boring, but it leads to good sex scenes so I don't care.

Conclusion
I really enjoyed this game and I think people should give it a go. From the very beginning you're thrown into this sex crazed world and within the first 5 minutes the main character was getting pounded by an orc, licked out an Elf, and riding some tentacles.

I gave it a 4 star because there are definite improvements here and it's not finished. If this game finished off the quests, brings the amount of bugs down to a few, and ALLOWED ME TO GET THE HAIR FROM THE GIRL IN THE BROTHEL! Then it would probably be my favourite game on this site.

I only played around two hours of this game and could not really continue playing for the simple reason that the game feels really janky. The gameplay combat consists of attack and roll and nothing else, it feels like gameplay part of the game was made at the beginning of development and never updated, never changed. The graphics are ok, but it has that feeling of a default Unity engine graphics package, you know the one that doesnt have a soul of a developer in it. One other that killed my vibe, is that this games story is just a glorified fetch quest with a few sentences of story between each fetch, come on, im not that down bad for a 3D combat focused game.
And the last thing that basically made me stop playing this game were the sexual scenes, its hard to get 3D model sex scenes correct, because if you get it wrong, it just looks ugly and that is exactly what it is for me.

2 stars for effort, because at least the dev tried to make a good game, didnt necessarily succeed.

Well, I remember when the game just appeared on this site and I downloaded the very first version of the game. Then it seemed to me that the game would be another Dark Souls, and typical mmo, rpg games in such genres of games. The first impression for me then was not great. But years have passed and the game is really developing and updating.
I've replayed this game 10 times or more and started all over again. I was looking for maybe Easter eggs, other ways of passing. But here everything is linear and plot, as per the script. There is no variety in the approach to quests. For example, about the quest with a ghost in the house. It can be released if the diary is found further spoilers I will not say). But why is it impossible to immediately use the magic of the elves (and they will turn out to be enemies) to use and free the ghost in our house.
The world itself and the map are not big. The game does not require a super PC. I have 30-50 fps stable. There are no special bugs. Lagov too.
But too many quests are a little tiring. But they are fast in passing the game.
There is a secret room here, I got into it once without knowing how. And there are really super animations and atmosphere.
I would even support the game with a donat.
Here's what I'd like to see more:
More options when creating a character
There is no physics here. The character does not die from height for example. Breast physics, as for example in The Sims 4, is weak here. But it's worth playing. The whole plot, if you know what to do, takes 2 hours of play. I recommend playing for beginners and already experts in this game, maybe the players will come up with mods and it will be better

game graphically beats Threshold Road by a good number, but mechanically it doesn't hold a candle to it, despite Threshold having bugs, its nowhere near this one, i managed to enjoy Last Barbarian but the bugs always take me out of it at some point...
Giving a 4 star because the game has great potential but is being holded down by the games mechanics.
