Question, how is this game not one of those with a 4.7 or 4.8 score? it having a 4.5 feels too low for me for how good it its
Because people don't understand what TEXT BASED mean... if you look through reviews you'd see that quite a few lower scored reviews list "weak visuals" as negative and part of the reason for lower score.

Honestly, any review that is going to complain about visuals and art in a text based game should be immediatelly deleted because it's not representive of the game... it's representive of the game the reviewer thinks it should be. Same goes for those who complain about RPGM elements in RPGM game...

At the end of the day, this is a porn-site.
People are here to jork it, and most aren't prioritizing engaging narrative over sexy art and scenes.

And with most games, a large share of players won't ever get past the prologue; The artstyle doesn't appeal to them, and the RPGM engine feels a bit dated. Those first impressions matter a lot, and some people won't get far enough into the story to get hooked.

I really hope Annikath redoes those prologue scenes at some point. You can absolutely tell it was some of her earlier work. The Riala scene NEEDS to be the point that players say "oh shit, what's going on here!?"

The game is also pretty intimidating without a guide. Some players will get confused in Stineford and abandon ship.

Honestly, i recon if you only sampled players who got beyond Chapter 1, it would have a score at close to 5.0. But those first impressions matter, man.

Well, it is F95. Rating system here is strange when you compare the average between the titles. As far as I can see, a lot of reviews on TLS were written by people who expected something else, or were overwhelmed by the game. There are also some specific criticisms (on the need to play with guide, for instance), but they are not prominent. So in the end it's not so high.
If Disco Elysium had some porn and you could find it here, the situation would be the same.

adding what other people said, a lot of player hate, real hate, the first gathering with the bit of "sharing".
People don't like their own reality seeping into their games... jokes aside, anyone who bitches about sharing or ntr or anything IN A GAME is literally beyond saving... why ya care about pixelsssssssss (I get it. I too get attached to great characters with very good written lore like the protagonist of FURRY HITLER... I had to use this title because I found it on steam...)

I'm playing Chapter 5 for the first time, is there any reason not to do Eustrin Final immediately?
If you are really low on Ivalan or Arclent acceptance you might not be able to take some actions there, but otherwise I don't think there's any reason to wait, outside of waiting for money to get investments that might improve some relevant scores.

if you can complete it (there an edge case softlocking you) no one.

scores are checked only for starting the event, and you need to have the minimum in both acceptance to make two push.

All of which is fine, this game is not for everyone. But when the game clearly list in it's tags that it's TEXT BASED, that it contains TURN BASED COMBAT and MANAGEMENT, when in title you have RPGM listed as game engine then potential players should have an idea what to expect. Writing a negative review because game contains those elements speak more about reviewer then the game... which is why I believe all those reviews should be deleted due to not being relevant to the game.

I just realized I missed a shining sword super early on and I don't think I can get back, I'm in chapter 2
The shining sword is in the sewers that leads to the succubus tower and it's sealed both ways. How much wil this affect my game?

Not much, though it's better to collect as many of them as possible. If you want to go down this path, you can cheat +1 shining sword using the save editor, no harm done.

I'll see what I miss, I don't even know what they're for. Seems like I got every other one so far, I'm at 5/6.

iirc the optimal late game rewards related to them have leeway of one sword so you should be fine if you don't miss any more of them. (not 100% sure though)

Exactly. They act like the fictional 2d art is their actual real life girlfriend which kind of gives you the impression that they don't think they will ever actually get a real girl. It's just a game they need to just let the sexy stuff be what it is or just ignore it. I'm sure there will be plenty of situations in the game that they will like. If Succubi where real I highly doubt they are only gonna fuck one person. That's like going to a buffet and only trying 1 item.

Cool the 'tude, you are preaching to the choir here.
I agree with the fact that it's shitty practice to write reviews for products which you haven't given an honest attempt, and haven't attempted to comprehend the purpose of before using.

But I ask, how would you go about "deleting negative reviews" in a way that's objective, fair and doesn't provoke a tidal wave of people demanding the same treatment for other games on this site?
Where do you draw the line from "unfair negative review" to actual negative review? Does anyone who says "I played past half of chapter 1, and the scenes just weren't for me" count as deletable in your optics?
How much research does a person have to do to count as "valid" in your optics? The game says "2dcg RIGHT next to "text-based" in the tags list, and there are multiple attached images of sex scenes. Do you really blame some people for not getting the full understanding from that info?
Who would even manage deleting reviews, without pissing off this entire site, when thousands of people start getting mad and posting how their borderline-reviews got canned, because a moderator got too zealous in their purging?

You are evidently frustrated about those reviews. But this isn't a real solution.
