Agreed. I'm a bit further into the game now and I saw another weird scene on Sarah's route where she tripped over a can. Surely what would've happened is you'd end up kicking the can rather than the can making you fall over. Then similarly with the Ella's scene, the reaction from Sarah was aggressive. Same aggressive reaction from Lisa's path too. But as you said, these scenes served their purpose. I just thought they could've been done better while still serving their purpose.yup, i think the scene served its purpose nonetheless.

Fair point about Hailey's father and the timeline.Yeah, I guess given on the time frame it wouldn't make sense.
But the MC's age isn't necessarily that young. MC is in the same year as Ella when they meet right? Then there's college, where she helps with his theses (and Ben's). THere's the shared dorm vibe with Ben and Vicky being awkward. So, at least three years after the skatepark. Then building the company. The non canon sex scene in the gallery shows that they were focused on bing successful earlier. Also, remember that the mansion we see at the end of Ch2 - Ella lived there. That's where the MC sees memories of her, and the groundskeeper remembers Ella, as is obvious from the end of the scene. So timeline is that after the skatepark, the MC went to college and built a business empire from scratch with Ben, enough to own a mansion before Ella and he conceived (no memories of her in the mansion if she was already gone by then).
So it's far more likely that the MC and Ella were in their late 20s, and the MC is now in his mid thirties. I should remind myself of the script, because the coffee hasn't sunk in. I think there might be a reference to Lisa's age, and she jokes that in a different life, they'd have played in the same sandbox. This'll mean that Madelyn is also in her mid 30's.
So if my theory has any weight - Ella's experience at the orphanage is a plot point, she leaves at 18 anyway, the guy gets dismissed, the MC is 36 - the care taker could leave and settle rural with a 3 year old, Hailey would be the right age, roughly.
Oh and Ben and Vicky have multiple children - ages aren't mentioned, but given the anecdotes about Ben and Vicky's sex life through college, and the MC's bad name of Olga being a joke - Ben and Vicky's kids are older - more to kind of get an idea of the MC's age. I really should remind myself of the details.
The MC does a 180, immediately turns around to had home to get changed, so basically does a u-turn infront of Ella.
To be fair, I don't knw if what I think about that timeline will make sense, I am just speculating - I always try to work out the mysteries and see if I can guess thm ahead of time. Even if I'm wrong, it's fun trying. Regards Ella's sister, we know that she chose Maddy's name for a specific reason. So a) b) or c) can't be true. Other options that make sense are Ella was abandoned at age 4/left at the orphanage. Madelyn got adopted. Madelyn was sent away for treatment healthwise because of the genetic condition showing up early, and never got sent back to the orphanage. Whatever happened would have been early on. Ella's attitude towards John's mother shows she's accepting, and she wants family above all, so I can't see her being estranged, and because of her choosing Maddy's name, I suspect she always remembered her sister. Younger sister might also mean the younger twin, or even just the smallest possible age gap - the parents died of CAD from too much sex maybe?Fair point about Hailey's father and the timeline.
There are still some things that just don't gel yet with Madelyn, Ella's sister. Ella states she was orphaned at age 4 and kicked out of an orphanage at age 16. If Ella told the truth, then the only way Ella having a sister makes sense is if (a) they were estranged from each other at an early age (so estranged that Ella wouldn't even acknowledge having a sister), (b) Ella was completely unaware she had a sister, or (c) something so traumatic happened that she forgot having a sister. It's just not possible that Ella would leave her roughly 10-12-year old sister in an orphanage and not have contact with her all through her marriage to the MC. Something's just not right there. I guess we'll find out the reasons in Ch 3.
I'm outta reacts today. So the answer is 100% chance to be a one syllable word right? I already used up maybe.
help the dev by supportingOh man, this creator has an amazing storytelling ability, and every episode keeps choking me up emotionally. I hope it doesn’t end up as an abandoned project... <3
I guess the thing is that none of the prologue dialogues have Ella ever mentioning any siblings. Thus, the assumption is that she never told the MC she had a sister - which is strange in itself. There is also no indication Ella ever tried to find her sister after meeting the MC. We'll have a better idea when the MC meets Maddy, to see if he knew already or perhaps find out a reason why Ella wouldn't say anything to the MC in the years they spent together. To be fair, I don't knw if what I think about that timeline will make sense, I am just speculating - I always try to work out the mysteries and see if I can guess thm ahead of time. Great idea for a prequel focusing on Ella's early life, called "Maddy's Gone."
It's actually interesting. For now I tend to believe it's an unimportant detail whether Ella knew her sister personally. Most likely, she did, otherwise it would be too successful random hit with the name of her daughter. Although at this point of the story, one can come up with dozens of explanations, of varying degrees of plausibility. For example, their parents abandoned the elder sister at birth because of that genetic disease early manifest, due to which they could not provide care for the child. And Ella was told that her older sister had died.
Or they were half-sisters, and Ella did not even know about her existence. Or Ella did not know, but chose the name in honor of her great-grandmother. Anything is possible.
We don't know anything about her parents either, maybe she always avoided this topic in conversations with MC, but she wrote it down in her notes and we will eventually find out. Or even maybe she only remembers vague fragments of that times, how her mother read her a book, but does not remember her face - this happens in AVNs, you have all seen this in that one another AVN.
I'm still outta reacts, which makes me a bit more boring.Great idea for a prequel focusing on Ella's early life, called "Maddy's Gone."![]()
I guess we'll see how jPk vns handles this sub-plot. I understand not revealing Maddy's existence in the prologue or Ch 1 adds to the shock of the Ch 2 cliffhanger, so we'll see if there are any flashbacks or whatnot that do reveal Ella telling the MC or a reason Ella kept it to herself.
That's why I said the meeting between the MC and Maddy could potentially reveal a lot. It would indicate if the MC had prior knowledge of Maddy's existence, which jPk vns simply chose not to reveal too early in the story.I'm still outta reacts, which makes me a bit more boring.
Madelyn has only met the groundskeeper and Vicky - there's nothing saying that Ella didn't tell John. Just that Ella didn't talk about it specifically infront of either of the two people who where there.
whats adorable about a overambitious , career-obsessed girl?....
Regarding the LI's, Hailey's mixture of naivety and drive is adorable.
....
Despite her young age and harsh past, she didn't hide in a hole or turned into some typical goth girl, so beloved by AVN players "Oh, no one accepts me, oh, the world is unfair, let me get tattooed from head to ass, start hanging out with shady assholes and behaving provocatively with everyone, then they will definitely appreciate my edgy look and uniqueness"whats adorable about a overambitious , career-obsessed girl?
its that type of girl who fucks with the boss to climb the ladder
a harsh past dont makes her adorable ....Despite her young age and harsh past, she didn't hide in a hole or turned into some typical goth girl, so beloved by AVN players "Oh, no one accepts me, oh, the world is unfair, let me get tattooed from head to ass, start hanging out with shady assholes and behaving provocatively with everyone, then they will definitely appreciate my edgy look and uniqueness"
And I like that the hardships she had to face did not break her, she is ready to achieve her goals, to work around the clock for a better future for herself (and Emily) and at the same time not to lose a piece of her past teenage naivety and kindness to loved ones. “I like people with ambitions,” as Zara said.
(who the heck is emily)
