Where dose one find the amount of 'cash' the character has ?

There is a scene at a local 'Bar', where the PC can buy some wine . . . but, have no idea how much 'cash' he has access to . :unsure:`

PS - Hadn't played, (or knew about ), the original game, so not familiar with it's 'story', or, where/how, to proceed it's progress , after 'helping' the Mom at the Library, only place highlighted was a 'Bar/Pub' . . . where one needs cash , to proceed . . . ?

Also, going 'Home' , (right-side icon, under the phone icon ), instead, leads to, nothing/no way, to proceed . . .
That's why went back and tried the 'Bar' .

Guess, he has 'unlimited' cash . . . Bought a bottle of wine, (-$33), and proceeded home , leading to a scene with Nicky , (that wasn't available before hand). :unsure:

The cash is a useless stat in my opinion from the original game. I removed the indicator as it was just cluttering up the interface. You should have enough cash for any of the scenes available currently, and I will increase the amount with the next update so that it is nothing to be concerned about. You should have plenty of cash for all of the scenes listed in the phone interface. I put the quick transport icon to the MC's home as I thought it would make navigation a little easier, but it may have been a bit premature to release it. There's still very little overlap between the different paths. Thank you for the feedback, it will definitely go into the design of the next release.

I very, very much wish every 3rd line didn't have {w=.5} tossed in there 3 times. It's so painful for those of us who can read quickly. The choices for the player are frustration or skip text.

for anyone else, i was frustrated enough to go digging in renpy's code...
in View.of.Family-Resurrected-0.1.7-pc\renpy\character.py go down to line 147 and you'll find this bit

if tag == "p" or tag == "w":
if not less_pauses:
self.pause_start.append(len(self.text))
self.pause_end.append(len(self.text))
self.pause_delay.append(value)


Change it to
if tag == "p" or tag == "w":
pass

no more waiting :)
FYI, just searched the project for these as I finish my to-do list. There were still 1663 incidents of them still left in the original code. Next release shouldn't have any left. :cool:

Hey guys, just thought I'd drop an FYI. As of the next release, 0.2, the story will have no less than 4 additional characters that do not appear in the original game, rusty.png Rusty, lena.png Lena, krissy.png Krissy and mrbutt.png Mr. Buttons (Mia's Teddy, coming soon).
Also, 2 original characters are planned to have expanded roles soon, banks.png Mrs. Banks and wendy.png Wendy the Bartender.

Add to this the new locations (currently Barber Shop and Mall Food Court) , it occurred to me that future updates MAY require deleting the "persistent" file in the "saves"directory, deleting the %AppData%, or starting a new game. I have not seen this yet and I will do everything I can to prevent this, but with all the additional images, paths and variables being added, I thought it only fair to give everyone a head's up. I do not want to discourage anyone from playing this game, But I thought letting you know now is the right thing to do for you to make your own choice. As always, please DM me with questions or issues you encounter, and thanx again for your continued support

Thank you for the honest feedback. The further I get with the project, the more I have wondered about just what you're suggesting. DAZ is out of the question. I am sick of the same models, the same PARK with the bench on the left and the path going to who-knows-where, the same clothing store with the white mannequin wearing the same grey and red outfit, the same coffee shop, shall I continue? Not that I have any issues w/devs who use it, just don't have the desire or resources. My issue is, despite how it appears to the player, I still base the game on someone else's code and concept. When I feel the code is less what I started with and more what I've written, I'll probably divert some of my attention to what the game will eventually be. I just need to be able to reconcile it all in to myself, what (if anything) I owe to the creators and what I can take credit for. Hope this makes sense.
See, I can actually sympathize with the idea of this. Nothing takes me out of a game more than seeing the same statue of the same old dude with the lantern or whatever pop in 40 different games that are supposed to have distinct worldbuilding.
However it's painfully obvious that this legitimate gripe is just being used as an excuse because you lack the patience/skill to make something unique with Daz, Light of My Life doesn't look like any other VN on here, BaD doesn't re-use any overexposed backgrounds and even then you could just use VAM instead of Daz.

You're using AI because it's the easiest possible way to go about doing this, quality be damned.

Mr Dev sir. This game looks very interesting, and I would love to give it a try. That being said, I only have a mobile phone in which to do this. Is there any chance there will be an android version of this game coming at any point? I realize that it might be labour intensive...but it would open a whole new demographic to your work. If not I understand, and wish you all the best with your amazing looking game.

You know you had me until the "quality be damned" comment. You have no idea the amount of effort and time I put into each update. Sorry it's not to your liking but it's certainly not due to a lack of trying. Not to mention the time I spend on my own researching different coding techniques to make the gameplay more interesting, the time I spend reading forums here and on other sites to get a better idea of what players like and dislike and the time I spend in Photoshop honing my skills. Not because it's easy, but because I'm trying to produce the best possible project that I can and develop my skills as far as I can take them. Plus, I also mentioned I don't have the resources to run or render on Daz.

Your cynicism must serve you well. Have a good life

Who is the model for the two blondes?
The one with the ponytail on the banner, and the one with the long pixie in pictures 3 and 10?
There is no model in Mia's case. She is the product of prompts fed into an AI engine. Any inconsistency in her appearance is due to limitations of AI, but I'm learning many new techniques to compensate for that. Thank you for the kind words.

Wrong way to go about it. Pay attention to the haters to prevent an echo chamber. Most are bad input but there is some gems in reading the negative posts to help spur innovation or a new train of thought not considered. It may not be worth going back to fix but instead move forward with or attempt on the side.

Using you for a generalized mini-rant. It's honestly nothing personal.

As someone who has spent time watching a friend learn to use AI for art projects, I take quite a bit of umbrage with the idea that the implementation of AI is universally some sort of lazy shortcut. It is a tool and just like any other tool, the results of usage are based on the relative effort and developed talent of the user. My friend was ass when they started, even though they were very good at utilizing prompts. My friend is now very good, squeezing all they can out of software that presents them with some extreme limitations.

Everyone, barring significant physical or mental impairment, can cook. Not everyone can cook well, but most everyone can *learn* to cook well. People on here complain about unfinished/abandoned projects, but then turn around and complain when tools come along that, with enough time and understanding, can allow devs to potentially finish projects at a much higher rate.

I'm old enough to remember when 3D modeling for, well, anything, became popular. If you weren't outright being wowed simply by 3D modeling existing, then you realized just how rough and unnatural it was at the very beginning. I see AI usage going through the same thing, but it's developing much, much more quickly and it's absolutely crazy how frighteningly good the technology is already.

TLDR; Let people be creative in the way that's best for them.

No. Ignore the haters is correct. Haters live in their own echo chamber and won't come around even if proven incorrect about something. The people to pay attention to are those with actual constructive criticism. People who legitimately provide this aren't haters.
