I think you misunderstood. The version of the game posted on this site was leaked from the developer's site. He is not the one distributing the game here, moreover, he is no longer present on this site and deleted his account here more than a year ago. So no, the developer definitely does not plan on updating anything here.

Given the scope of both projects, committing to only one will just lead to burnout and abandonment down the road. He's said before that swapping back and forth keeps him fresh. While I personally wouldn't run two similar size projects at the same time, if one of the projects was smaller in scope or used as a testing ground, (like Out of Touch/Tropicali) it typically ends up being beneficial in the long run.

He does a common part, then adds the specific for WiaB to one and SG to the other. That way, both sets of fans get the info about the taxes and music licensing, but only WiaB has to deal with Helen and only SG has to deal with Mila. He can't do a combined, single devlog, because WiaB stuff isn't allowed on patreon.
Lost some workstation uptime because of issues at the gym so it was repurposed as temporary gym equipment. This workout leads to a spark of inspiration and we'll get a new character. Problem is, it'll be for SG and not WIAB.
