Yeah, when I play other games like BaDIK, City of Broken Dreamers, AOA Academy, and a few others with much more polished content, and then I look at mine, I'm not happy with what I've made. So I took some time to improve it and address this, along with many other aspects of the game.

I want to eventually put this game on Steam, but in its current state, I wouldn't even consider it. I need to improve it substantially before I do.

Improving the overall content will be a win on all fronts, not only for myself, but for the player too.

I wouldn't worry Chaq...this is right up there with all those. One of the best VN's around for me.

I think that this game is already a masterpiece but once the rework comes out

with the much more emotional and romantic dialogue and sex scenes

with much more emotion and feeling

this game in my opinion will be the living embodiment of perfection

yeah for sure this game is my 2nd favorite AVN already. The only AVN I have ranked higher has the same feel to it tho that one has alot more drama and 12 chapters / updates

i'm in the middle on this. I mostly agree with you however I do feel reworking the dialogue during the lewd scene is something I do want. While yeah sometimes dialogue during lewds are meh it also can be pretty intimate and just for a better experience when it comes to the character. As I did find it lacked an intimate feel at least the first time I played. I don't care about the animations tho.

100% it's the main reason I even bother to read dialogue during sex scenes if it was all moans and grunts no point. Honestly some of my favorite dialogue and moments can be found during sex or right after in some of these games. It really enhances the experience when done right. Especially when it's a LI where there is some feeling and connection from both MC and LI.

One of my favorite characters there is a lewd scene in another game no penetration yet but if you pick the bad option which feels more romantic to me. The MC gets too excited and doesn't listen to her until she pushes him to the ground but then you can feel how bad the MC feels for what he almost did and the connection and love they have for each other and understanding and care. The dialogue is what really makes that "bad option" superior and more romantic in my opinion.

exactly bro you tell him this visual novel I consider it to be one of the greatest

in fact in my opinion I consider this visual novel to be better than some of the best visual novel out there

honestly I would happily buy this day 1 if it came to steam. Tho no need to rush do it when you feel it's right and you want to do it of course. But I have bought some games on steam and very few of them can hold a candle to this game already and they have more chapters / updates under their belt. Some are just a waste of money and bought them cause I feel bad about downloading games off this site but I cant afford to sub to every game I like which why I do prefer to use steam as my method to support a dev.

well, again to be blunt, but most of them are doing it so it's not out of the norm. You can give your supporters free keys. A good steam release can be real beneficial when your game is fire

Well... No. For those who like to actually read a good story. Those particular titles are not in the same league with you. The closest is City of Broken Dreamers but, that one leans a bit too much toward exposition for my taste. You have a talent for dialogue and letting the characters tell the story. Your artwork is pretty much on par with them give or take. Your animation skill is going up the ladder quickly. If I were giving an overall ranking of those titles and this one...

3. BaDIK
4. AOA

I know some devs who spent too much time on polishing. and they released very polished and short update. I mean that you shouldn't spend too much time just on polishing. But it's just my opinion. Feel free to ignore it.

I think you're being too hard on yourself. Your game holds up well against the ones you mentioned, and as someone with plenty of experience in Visual Novels on Steam, having played over 120, I can say that yours is already superior to most I've played there.

But this high standard you hold yourself to is exactly what makes your Visual Novel incredible. I, for one, am just waiting for it to launch on Steam so I can grab it on day one.

That depends on how you want to distribute it, if you want in seasons, only you can know after how many episodes its ready.
If you do early access, buy it now and get updates free until its done, I think I've seen releases even more barebones, in terms of render count and story progress.

I got Chasing Sunsets for like 8$ four updates ago and only now its close to finish.

I think this is a curious example, since the Doc is notoriously bad at erotica dialogue, so instead of trying he just doesn't really use it and focuses on what he is good at. Being a DIK scenes don't feel longer just because of more, or longer animations, its the way the scene is structured, spliced with static renders and dialogue, characters moving around the set, new options that appear only after doing other positions first, it gives the feeling that the scene is progressing.

Contrasting, lets say we have 20 angles from the start and just click on how many and in which ever order you want, or just click cum from the get go, it feels like you just went through 20 alternative scenes, rather than them happening in succession and building to the climax. IMO, that is the bigger factor in making the scenes feel short.

Hot take, while I enjoy animations, I don't think they are needed at all to transmit what I'm describing.
