I really want to give this game more stars but...
The RPGM engine is really bad version and IMHO outdated. So much so it took me 90 minutes before I could actually figure out how to get this game to run, manually edit the init file to get it to run in a decent sized window, and then figure out how to navigate without mouse support, and then figure out how to access the main menu and then how to save...
After installing, the game would not run - I needed to really search the comments to figure out I needed to download and install a completely different version of RPGmaker from the rpg website - (this info should be announced in the Install spoiler on the first page) - then figure out how to get the game to display in a decent sized window.
I had to literally watch the hole damn intro 4 times - 2 in a tiny tiny window then finally was able to guess that F1 key would allow me to set the window size (2 works well) - then a few more time until I figured out how to access the main menu (X key) so I could save the damn game and not play the prelude over and over again...help menu is sorely needed right from the start.
The story seems good but OMG - it took me 10 tries to figure out where to stand to open that damn bedroom door and to realize I had to hit the Z key while standing in the exact right spot behind the door (actually 2 separate doors side by side which is so confusing and unneeded) where I could not see the character icon - navigating with the keyboard to someone like me with disability in their hands is AWFUL. This game needs Mouse support.
Then seeing that the character's are only portrayed from the waist up in the dialog window - dealing with a non transparent text box - this is a waste to me as seeing the whole character's body is a turn on.
Not to mention the many bad links to images for the best friend in the first few scenes of the game - come on, this game has been out for years and it still has broken links in the first damn day???????
After 90 minutes I have still only gotten through the first quest...figuring out how the X and Z keys worked, and so many cut scenes that it was hard to figure out when to save - and the save screen was not very intuitive - very confusing as it seemed it was going to overwrite an old save from the way the screen displayed, then no ability to name saves...OMG what a pain in the ass!
Have not yet got to a real scene yet after 2 hours of 'play' (work) so can not judge the renders...had to review this anyway just in case other new players have issues.
Most of this complaint is mega stuff, not game story related - could have been addressed by the devs on their patreon or walk through web site easily to give a detailed tutorial on how to install and setup the game.
I plan on trying again to get to the actual content and will update the review at that time. I really want it to be good as decent NTR story content is so rare.
