Assuming this is the scene you're talking about, it's one of the game's built-in killswitches. It'll immediately quit the game if it detects the persistent.mod_wt_enabled variable. You probably used the Scrappy mod at some point, and even though you're on a clean install the variable is still lurking in your save data.

You just need to get rid of that variable and the "crash" will stop.
OMG thanks I didn't know how to do console mode so I just used urm to remove it. Hope I didn't cause another problem down the line lolz.

The vanishing variables are a SanchoMod issue, not related to the new episode (I experienced the same thing in version 10). The Mod sets a few of the game variables to a certain value when the game first runs. , so while you're playing with the Sancho Mod installed, if your route sets those values to the same as what the SanchoMod set them to be, RenPy doesn't consider them "changed" and doesn't include them in the save. As long as SanchoMod is installed, the "defaults" are set by the mod every time you boot the game, so it doesn't matter. Remove the SanchoMod code, and those variables don't exist at all in those saves.

I'm not a Ren'Py expert by any means, but I tossed together that . Testing wasn't thorough, but it got me through a full playthrough from the end of Chapter 10 to the end of Chapter 11 on the Josy/Maya branch with no issue, plus a few test-loads of a few random saves in various branches from episodes 9 and 10 to make sure that defined variables wouldn't get screwed up. (Still, use at your own risk, back-up your saves, etc.)

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Do we just put this file in the game folder

I'm still getting errors when loading a save. Guess I have to dig deeper...I got the save fixer too and put those folders in the game folder as well still nothing.
Hm strange. I have put both the sancho's save fixer and the file shared above and it works. It doesn't work without the save fixer though. Maybe you used Scrappy's mod instead? If that's the case just use his mod and it should work. Right now i have Sancho's save fixer, the above file as well as Scrappy's mod all in there and im not getting any errors anymore

I started anew without Sancho's mod.
This mod works great for Season 1-2. RIP to its modder, Snow.
It doesn't bork save files and is very helpful.
Nice clean mod.

I'm playing Season 3 unmodded from this point forward.

Sancho will be missed. Hopefully he just quit modding and is well.
My Sancho persistent file is borked when I try to use the music menu.
The save files are now unreliable because the save fixer won't get updated.

Thank you @Sancho1969 for all the excellent mod work.
Wish you well wherever you are.

I appreciate Scrappy's mods, but for BADIK I'd rather just keep a clean save now.
I don't want any mod variables borking my saves because BADIK takes long to complete a playthrough.

I've been working on steering clear of mods. If there's a PDF walkthrough, I will use that instead as it doesn't mess with the saved games.

At least you can import your sacho modded end save into season 3 unmodded without hassles.

I might be stupid, but where is the button to download? Can someone link it?
They're hidden behind the spoiler tag. It says "Spoiler S1S2". Click that button and you'll find the links. You should not be using the one for S3 since we don't know where Sancho is and the mod is not updated for the latest version. If you're looking for something for S3 I'd recommend going with Universal Renpy Mod instead, but Scrappy's is also available. Scrappy's will cause issues with next update until he updates his mod tho so beware of that.

Well I use both, scrappy mod working perfectly fine and URM. URM is always a good complement to any mod anyway, but that is me that am always curious what is running behind the scenes hehe.

I think they meant that with each update there is additional mod counter measures added that make the scrappy mod to take longer to update and working, but that is with almost every mod, if isn't updated the saves usually get borked. And yes its running perfectly fine for me but I used my Sancho modded saves with scrappy mod, I didn't had none of the issues people were having with scrappy modded saves.

But anyway scrappy updated it very fast considering the complex branching of the game and we waited 14 months for the game update, what is a few more days of waiting for the mod anyway?
