Is it known what is the bottleneck for producing a new Episode?
- writing the story?
- inventing and implementing mini-games?
- posing the scenes?
- rendering the scenes and animations?
- coding the overall game?
- adding more music?

Any chance that DPC may reduce production time back to 6-12 months by renting/setting up a (bigger) render farm?
There is no real bottleneck, though some would argue its caused by the animations. The basics is though DPC does not like his rigs sitting idle, so he set them off doing what he needs to, then gets on with other things, meanwhile making sure that render queue s always full
Then through planing everything finishes at the same time.
A better rig would only result in idle machines so to make sure they're not idle, well he'd up the quality or increase the numbers
In cases of other devs, yeah more machines = faster dev time. In DPC's case nope, he will cook it for as long as it needs and you just have to wait.
