MC can tell Derek he's a better friend than her.In your mind, MC can be completely okay with Zoey flirting & screwing other guys. But the reality is, he is not going to be okay with that at all. Maybe he will be.
MC can tell Jacob it's okay to hit on her.
MC can reject Zoey, sometimes without player choice, depending on whether you forgave her and other variables.
MC tells the narrative he's over Zoey after he rejects her.
Why would MC tell Sage about nonsensical drama she's not a part of? Who cares what other girls think? She knows he organizes and attends parties where semi-naked girls are (i.e. panty party), where he dresses up to attract attention (i.e. Gladiator) and drunk, horny girls are staring at him. Does he have to talk about all of the girls hitting on him to her? When was this, and why? She knows he's popular, and she trusts him (i.e. the phone call about Zoey). The whole school knows about him and the MC's MC, and yet Sage trusts the MC.But this confession & subsequent closeness is going to be on Sage's mind the entirety of MC's time at B&R when she's gone. He turned Zoey down. Confessed love for Sage. Bringing in conflict with his friend does him, Sage or Zoey no favors. My thoughts is just to wait to see how Zoey operates after being rejected. If she acts like Josy, by all means cut her off. But I believe patience is the right choice here.
