Seriously, if you actually want to make it a game with "avoidable NTR" then it'd be easier to just make the initial meeting between Ann and Eric optional and up to the player. If they chose no Eric then just move to the state as if he's already disposed of. You'll save yourself some grief this way and more people will be pleased. A win-win i'd say.

Eric will be in the game, but NTR will be completely avoidable. Basically the moment he'll start coming over, you can chose that he'll stay till morning (as it was in the original) or not which means both he and Ann will be gone to his place.

Besides it's a remake, the characters are not the same and the universe is totally different, so blowing up a useless character like Erik wouldn't be the biggest loss. It would even be the opposite. All the time lost with this buffoon could be replaced by much better events with the other characters.
