Thanks, but none of those controls handles the character selection screen. Those controls shown are after you get into a fight. (You can also see the controls by going into the config screen). What I'm talking about is before the fight, setting up the characters in the first place, which is why I also sent the screenshot to show where / what I was talking about.
They correspond to the same buttons used in the fight, just try it

I did try it. I was at the screen, and I hit every key on the keyboard, as well as kept clicking on the P1 and P2 sides. At most I got rid of the 2nd character on the P1 side, the control labels at the bottom changed to keyboard/keyboard buttons eventually, I got to a point where when I selected a character, P1 and P2 were locked on the same character. I spent about 15 mins just hitting random keys to try to make it a 1v1, with the characters I wanted. I couldn't manage to get it to 1v1, for example.

How hard is it to just have arrow-keys select characters and Z to confirm, X to cancel?
Set it to do Player 1 first, then player 2 after player 1 is locked in.

Battles must be between 2 characters per team.
Regarding controls, they change automatically when you press any of the corresponding player's directional keys (A, W, S, D or DirUp, DirDown, DirRight, DirLeft) (This must be done in the selection menu and during combat).
We will soon work to make it no longer necessary.

I'm getting some weird softlocking bugs, when trying to change controls, my key inputs don't seem to be registering, it lowers the resolution of the game when exiting the QUALITY settings or the SETTING menu as a whole, trying to select a fighter leads to a softlock on the SELECT CHAR mini menu where nothing I input allows me to progress to a fight or even back out to the main menu, I can change mode, difficulty, and click on CARD, OUTFIT and the other character portraits but nothing happens, clicking the back arrow doesn't do anything either.

1) Screen resolution error: This occurs the first time because you have no saved data.
2) I have not been able to find the errors, key assignment and lock in the character selection menu.
If you can, tell me how often you get these errors.
it's every time I try to change the key bindings and every time I try to select a character, the game is completely unplayable for me.
