I'm really tired of reading about the futanari hate nowadays, and I think most people here are just playing the game out of spite and not getting anything they actually want out of it […] and I can only wish you luck with that sunk-cost fallacy and/or game you're playing seeing how long it takes before they ruin your favorite.

My issue isn’t “WAAAAAAAH, LADY WITH A PENIS!”
It’s that it’s almost ALL they do anymore. There’s plenty of content I do enjoy! It’s just that the pipeline of what’s coming (or at least, the stuff I want) keeps shrinking, day after day. I don’t even like centaurs, so I wasn’t invested in Alante to begin with; that doesn’t make me any less annoyed at this shit. It’s all we see anymore. And I’m tired of it. I really am.

Speaking of that, Wsan is seriously underestimating how blurry he’s making the line between “Having a gimmick” and “Being a hack.” We get it. You like writing centaurs with dicks. Unlike most people here, I knew what to expect from TiTS. But Jesus Hotsauce Christmascake, man. We got the point after the third fucking one you dumped into this game. Alante’s going to be the fourth character he’s done with the same goddamn archetype.

The novelty is fucking gone at this point! You can’t beat a dead horse (heh) this much and pretend you’re not circling the drain. Any semblance of ‘nuance’ just becomes besmirched by how trite all of this is.

And it’s not just the horses! The creative bankruptcy of “hurr hurr I’m gonna write another dominant woman with a penis” is an issue just about every staff writer (except, ironically, tobs— but he has his own demons with Uninspired Pregslop Expansion No. 892) is guilty of. A good chunk of community ones too. It’s just so teeth-grindingly annoying to watch time and effort get devoted to what amounts to the creative equivalent of xeroxing something over and over.

I just sit here to watch the fireworks, but the high-and-mighty act the writers pull is insufferable.

Meanwhile the very easily verifiable reality is that most of the updates from at least December to now primarily features regular women, and the bulk of all those updates greatly favor them as well.

Current update we just got primarily features aregular woman. Drifa, another regular woman, got a massive update recently. Nihara as well. And then you have Varena too. And a reward for Drifa's Knot Cave quest let's you genderbend a bunch of wolf guys into wolf girls.

Coc2 might have more futadom overall and per capjta, but coc1 most were complete switches or leaned towards sub (I think heckel was more dom with Izma being alot like Arona cept way more controllable.)Could be wrong ofc.

CoC1 doesnt really have that many futas in general by default.

I'd say the shift had more to do with TiTs thans CoC1. TiTs had a Kickstarter and a Patreon; it ran for several years after CoC was gone and before CoC2; it had more visibility than CoC ever did - most of the writers that are vets are probably vets of ToTs if anything.

Anyway, futa was always one of Fen's big fetishes, which was why it was in CoC1; but he wasn't the only writer AND he let people donate to determine what he'd add to the game. The audience was more vanilla back then (well, general furry and monstergirl audience) so it resulted in mostly chicks.

TiTs came around and there was more writers, and more cash coming in for whatever Fen wanted to write. Plus, the writers and community CoC had cultivated who liked the unique parts of CoC1 (like futa) stuck around. So you get more futa and more kinds of futa.

Fen got to write more of what he wants, and he like dommy chicks with dicks. This attracts a community that likes the same; the community produces writers who like the same. Thise writers and community roll right over to CoC2.

stuff gets written -> people who like that stuff stick around -> some of those people become writers and write more of that stuff-> repeat.
