Played through the current content, what a great game. Fantastic visuals, feels and looks super polished, mostly fun mechanics, hot situations.
With that in mind, some thoughts (from a place of love. If the game sucked, I wouldn't bother thinking about possible improvements):
- I too felt like I was hitting a grind wall around waitress level 14/15, but got through it by getting gud. How to get gud doesn't feel intuitive, though, so that's a spot of improvement. For instance, buying the sleep potions and using 2-3 at the start of a shift goes a long way to make things more manageable. Skill point wise it probably took 5-6 experimental respecs before I got a set that got me back to S tiers. If you put too much into the Flirt tree or other support skills (golddigger, etc.) you'll make managing the room too hard, so those mechanics (room vs. flirt) seem like they're fighting against each other
- The other items to buy seem mostly useless aside from the required (box, pass) and the [get drunk] [remove drunk] ones to get specific shift endings
- The first room expansion seems entirely worthless. You don't need it for money (a couple sessions focusing on flirting with a high roller gives plenty), so it seems like it just makes things harder for no benefit?
- The Upper Floor/club needs a lot of work. Playing dice is too tedious to bother with for making money, so I was basically trying to lose as fast as possible to see the end scenes. Definitely not organic, and it sucks because those scenes look fantastic
Henry content misses me entirely, but that's my personal tastes
