To be fair, it was the dev who promised weekly updates to my understanding. You can't blame people for expecting people to follow through on what was being promised. Also, it's not like it would be the first time to have a game of a similar genre to be abandoned or delayed...

Plus, the entire pricing structure on patreon usually doesn't support actually finishing a game. Why would you sell a game for 40-50 dollars once when you can collect 13 dollars a month from everyone until it's finished.
Hopefully this game is an exception to the norm and continues to be updated frequently until it's eventual completion.
Of course weekly updates were promised which happened consistently up until now, but he also said that for 0.4 it will take more time than usual because they wanted to include more unique artwork for individual dialogues to make it more lively. To my understanding the consistency this dev has put up until now is the highest amount of consistency of any dev on this website so this consistent update schedule should absolutely not be something that people take for granted (especially when having a full time job aside from working in a team where everyone has to consistently deliver their part).

I'm really not trying to be a jerk but him/her having a second/main job is irrelevant. They are selling a product for money. If I was supposed to build you a house by x date, nobody really cares about my hardships in doing so if I miss the closing date. Just like someone is expected to consistently deliver at their main job, they are expected to do the same when it comes to selling something like this.

By all means, I'm not suggesting this dev isn't delivering as they promised, far from is actually as I'm eager to see his game develop and they seem to be hitting their own stated goals.

Dev said he didn‘t work his full time job for a week to bring the update faster, just to put things into perspective. Bro works full time and still manages to deliver early.
to deliver which version the first release of the game? because yeah that would make sense! but if he meant update 0.4, then jokes is on those who believed it :)

I hope PrayForFantasyGirls doesn't neglect this forum too much and share the updates in the "promised" time.
Public release is being finalized as I post this. Pretty much logged in to post it, might as well answer some questions.
Fellas here who followed this project from start, is this delays normal? are the terrain is starting to lose fuel??
it's joever...
nah, I just had to crunch a project. I put off finishing my desk job deadline and team lead as mad at me.
im broke af rn but 20 bucks aint never look so worth it before man
CFQ will always be available for free. You have to wait a little bit for us to finish the next public version.
how much it takes to create 10 arts
About 70-80 hours. Also, I have to make various art alterations, assemble and organize them, write the script and dialogue and i need to check in with my editor and programmer. I'm happy that there are people who look forward for new releases. I try to work as fast as possible.
Does anyone has the link for the v4.0?
0.4 is not out yet. We have 2 demos, but they are not ready for public eye yet.

Waste? depends of what you are looking for:

Because the lack of sex scenes, then wait a couple of months, the game its still in the "build up" phase.

Because the demo/test lacks content? this demos/tests are just for people who wanna take an early look in tho the upcoming content.

------

What I do its I wait for the final release/update each month then play it.

PD: the game is only a couple of months old, give the devs some time xD

They are not really selling a product yet, they are in full development of a product. Every cent u spend on patreon is clearly meant and stated as a donation so u have to be mindful about what project u really assist in development, the thing u said only really holds for actual full products or services that are bound by contract, for which patreon doesn't fall under any of these categories so yea I personally disagree.

I don't know where it states that everything on Patreon's site is a donation, all I can find is that it is a "value-for-value exchange" platform. People are expecting that they eventually receive something for the money they contribute to the developer. I fully agree that people have to be mindful of what projects they back monetarily or otherwise, but part of that is if the developer hit's their own stated goals and milestones. Games like this often die out halfway. I'm sure people just want a return on what they invest and don't want to fund a game that never fully comes out.

with all due respect, i love your game content, the art is just very peak.
but the problem is patreon price when it cost 13$ to test a demon version is too expensive tbh
even buying characters in 'Other World Legend' of chillyroom game dev did not expensive as that
You should reconsider the price. thank you very much

Don't bother downloading 0.3.6, the only "new" thing is 2 jpgs in the credits teasing the 0.4.0 update. Also seems a bit scummy to post an "update" with no new content, since this is obviously the public version that released today.
