Turner is your family name, so yes even after the patch your mom is still called Ms Turner. She's never called by her first name in this game.

they mislabled the endings, the perfect Ending is called Corrupted Ending, and Marcus's Mom is missing from all of them

So if the dev is making midnight paradise, will there be a sequel to this? midnight seems to be so updating so maybe they are working on a sequel? this game is pretty open ended isn't it

They're struggling enough with Midnight Paradise right now, so there's zero chance that they'll have time to work on a sequel to Dreams of Desire.
For the time being Midnight Paradise will be their main focus. Whatever happens after that game is completed has not been revealed yet.

I'm have a bit of a problem: In the walkthrough, it says for day 7 in the afternoon, there is an event 'Visiting Neighbor' and then on the next morning the Main Character references a 'Helen', who I assume to be the neighbor. The problem is, I can't seem to be able to find a way to activate this event, and there is no such location on the scroll bar located towards the top of the screen.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you on the Helen part. On the cafe part, are you talking about speaking with Marcus, and then directly after that? Because I'm pretty sure I've already done that, but I will go back and try it again.

Go to the library with mrs Turner. Then go to the library to find something about Tracy

I've done that, and no dice. Plus, after going to the library and encountering Tracy, the day ends.

Talk with Marcus in the coffee shop first, then go to the 'Neighbor's' (or Aunt in the patched version) House. That's what worked for me.
