It's because a kinetic novel has no gameplay, whereas this game includes different mini-games throughout its chapters and updates. That means that even though it doesn't have player choices, it still includes gameplay elements, which takes it out of the kinetic novel category

I better be able to save and continue after this animecon...otherwise you shutting the game down on me just cost me 3 hours of gameplay! I dont even know why it triggered. I was supposedly still a week away. Elaine had just finished trying to get Morgane to admit fucking the guy after the concert.
Edit: I can continue, but the entire job section is reset. So i've got to play 3 hours over again...awesome work dev...really great.
Edit2: I should point out that until that I was having a great time. But replaying 3 hours...that a big deal.
Edit3: Yep, caught back up got it all saved and it ends right after Morgane tells you the convention is in a week. You should really put in a patch that lets you roll back to before that conversation and save. That's fuckin stupid.
