You are probably better off just installing the WT mod, and then proceed to hold ctrl/tab/right click skip for the choices.
Not that time consuming to catch this game up to current using that method.

...Guess I'm one of the few who thought 0.8 was the best update since 0.5. Loved the New World arc feeling like a proper adventure, was giggling at the Stanley Parable section, almost went to heaven with all the Annie stuff that happened, and loved the action packed stuff that happened in the Valley of Kings and final section of the update (not to mention the "action" we got with Alex and Dalia).
The only critique I probably have is that the 0.7 cliffhanger was resolved a tad quicker in the beginning of the update than I hoped. But then again I should have expected it given that this is set in the same universe where a drug lord moonlighting as a tour guide conveniently offered quick body disposal to some guys who got a cult leader killed, no questions asked.

The endings are always good but the cliffhangers are always just drama bait.

It resolved about how I expected.
As someone mentioned the Stanley Parable part only works if you played it (which I didn't) otherwise its tedious and kind of annoying.
0.5 is probably one of the best updates, very well rounded. 0.6 probably has my favorite intro, especially if you play the last scene 0f 0.5 and transition into 0.6. Makes the Jerry narration much better.

For 0.9 it will be a legendary update if Orion has the guts to try something with Calypso while in Hyril'ar since that's sacrilege, but maybe he should take more care since its his real body not his astral body...nah

I think 0.6 was my fav update. Although 0.5 and 0.8 got the best ending points for me

Really enjoyed this game can anyone recommend something similar. But not the ones with those wierd "realistic" 3d models something similar to this or agent17 or my real desire. Harem is optional would really love some normal romance stuff with a dark twist

The dev is working on the 0.9 update right? Can I assume this is the second to last update then or shouldn't I trust the version numbering like 90% of the time xD

Also while 1.0 is the final update, it's not 0.9 then 1.0. Proper versioning would be 0.9 to 0.10 to 0.11 etc. until the final update which is 1.0.

Thanks for answering so we aren't that far yet as I "hoped" to be xD.
Haven't played any version of Eternum since I enjoy more playing only completed projects for several reasons. However I played Once in a Lifetime and I really enjoyed my time with it so Etermun I guess will be a no brainer.
Now that you showed me the image I have a slight deja vu xD
I guess I have asked this already at one point in the recent years and got the same response.
I would assume so for now. Time will tell.

I tried this game 3 different times - and always end up closing it without finishing. And not returning.
But it's constant placing at the very top of the ratings is bothering me.

It may simply not be your type of game. Nobody is trying to force anyone to play Eternum, but the ratings merely indicate that most people like it. If it is not for you, that's fine. I have tried several other games that have high ratings only to realize they are not to my taste. I am not goin to bash those games as they obviously have something going for them, but I will simply look for other games that I do like, such as Eternum. My first 15 minutes of Eternum did not hook me, but once I got past that, I really liked it. It is story driven and does have a fair bit of adult content, but I would not term it as primarily a porn game. It is an adult VN with some choice based aspects that has porn in it. People that play it usually come for the porn and stay for the story if that makes sense.
i quited the first time i played the game, then came back when i was looking for something that would be long and take time pushed through the first chapter (perhaps the second too) before really getting hooked. Then again it's possible that the game just doesn't work for you.
