I'm thinking of writing a game about a skilled keyboard warrior who is enslaved by a filthy duplicitous goblin, who force-feeds him cum, fucks his wife, and makes him write posts about how the goblin is trying his best and will be pushing out an update within the next week. The title: Crush's Pet.

I know I shouldn't feed the trolls, but love and hate are just two sides of the same coin. Everyone cares enough to share their thoughts, whether positive or negative. It’s all about how constructive and civil the comments are.
Let me reiterate: Crush is a fantastic writer, but project management and coding are not his strong suits. He should focus on writing the story rather than chasing new features. Remember, Tolkien completed "Lord of the Rings" before it became a movie classic. Similarly, "Disco Elysium" had its final cut only after the initial release.
Dollars spent shouldn't dictate the right to comment—as long as the feedback is logical and valid, why not? Most of bipbopboop's replies are ad hominem attacks like "hey Elon." If you're not Crush, discuss the real issues: How can FA development be faster? Is it fair to Patreons for updates to be skipped or the project reset? Lobsterman, for example, advised his fans to unsubscribe until he could update.
There are better ways to handle downtime. Transparency and accountability isn't about "haters."
It's called adulting.

My guy.... If I go to the restaurant and pay for a table and have to wait, fine. But if they close the doors for the night without ever giving me a table I just got scammed. See how that works? Do you see how people might think they've been scammed if it has been over a year without an update but he's still making nearly 5k? The only way your scenario works is if Crush was actually doing something, he has claimed over and over that he works ridiculous hours, I don't believe him anymore, he's a liar and a scammer and I'm telling people not to support him.
But bipbop will argue; "Yes i have had the same experience as you... BUT i believe in the restaurant and when they give me the table i will enjoy it!"
-Even tho the restaurant been opened since 2017, they only have 3 type of meals because the Chef is mental blocked and has scrapped those meals for the 4 or 5 time since. But chef claims working 36 hours/9 days a week for the new meal that promised 11 months a go-

Holy fucking shit the madlad actually kept the suckers on the hook for a whole year without an update. It's only $60k a year but that's just a solid grift. Better than most HTML "coders"

Whelp a month later... like I mentioned before I check on updates infrequently to games I have enjoyed. I have contemplated not following this game for a while because I followed when it literally first came out and thought it was a unique concept... but as someone else pointed out it was not updated once in 2024. It's been rebooted twice. It has less content than it did a few ears ago. Copycat games literally have more content. And once again... you haven't said anything constructive regarding why I should like this game... it certainly isn't the mindless fanboy community that thinks we are insane and "mean" in this forum.
At this point it's the only reason I follow... I think I've given up on this particular game. Honestly some of the inspo copycat games are better.
That would be funny... maybe someone should report it to the site admins.

No offence intended, but I don't care if you like this game. I'm not writing/developing/marketing it. So why would I?
I really like it. I love the writing: 007 undercover + travel immersion + sexy corruption. Love the polished kisekae graphics and UI too.
Play it (or don't) when it releases. The world will keep on turning. If you enjoy their work then I encourage you to pay for it, as I do as a general principle.

Not sure point you're trying to make with the Tolkien movies analogy. The Lord of the Rings, the books, sold c. 150m copies. Tolkien died while working on multiple other works, including an abandoned sequel. Maybe a GRRM analogy would fit better?

Yes, game devs should be accountable - if you paid! Not sure about transparency - that's conditional - some game devs offer such insights (for extra pay tiers) most do not.
