I always have low confidence even after attempting retry multiple times. When taking all high confidence choices I still only end up with 4 confidence at Jennifer for example.

I can't see how that would be, but you're not really missing much either way tbh.

well the start is 5, and then each choice can only decrease it by 1 (e.g. asking for help -1). So I choose to not ask for any help and stay on 5, but then they aren't impressed and give -1 (no choice, forced), resulting in always 4. So that's how it can (and mostly will) be.
edit: I actually managed to not get the -1 penalty after a lot of attempts, you need to do a somewhat specific rotation of debt collection, research and expanding clients to hit the goal, it seems like.

That's it, Charlotte explains to you more or less the correct order, but it's not made crystal clear in order for there to be something for the player to figure out.

Is there no solution? If the game is going to be several hours long, it's very bad if the saves don't work.

I'm a bit torn tbh. There is a way, but it also makes it a lot harder for me to keep it organized. It's a question of what's worse. The game wont be very long though. We are well over half way through.
Aww that’s too bad, starting over from scratch every time is a sure way to burn out on a game
Guess I’ll just have to read the change logs and only play the bigger updates.

There's been enough people voicing this that I'll try and find a solution that works. If I do, then the next update will hopefully be the last one that breaks saves.Aww that’s too bad, starting over from scratch every time is a sure way to burn out on a game

I haven't tried this game out, yet. I will later on, I just came across it. It's common on many games for saves not to work with updates. As you said that's the way the cookie crumbles.
