But, as meridith have one of the top fanbase in this game, if there is no content with her anymore (especially solo content) just because we won her over, is going to cause so much disappointment in significant portion of fanbase. And meridith fans will stop playing this game updates and only play it whenever she have content.
Part of me hopes this 2 girls will be mother and daughter and will be the next characters we work on adding to the harem in the sequel. I think it would be hot.

I'm not saying there won't be any content, but she won't be the focus anymore. These girls(Maxime and Meredith and any future girls)will probably be living with you since they are your followers.

From those previews, the game seems to end with this update. And dev moves on to the sequel.
It's more about sticking with the core theme than any specific character. Which was corruption. The Meredith netori plot was the result of that. I don't think anyone would complain if different characters that were targets for the cult were introduced. As long as it stuck with corruption and didn't go vanilla.
I'd be interested to know if dev has said why they are doing a separate sequel instead of the same game. Is it file size matter? Or they want to distance the sequel from the theme of the first? I'd only worry if it's the latter.

Let the developer earn money for a week or two from his work before the game gets shared for free on these sites. That way, the creator won’t get discouraged because, instead of people paying for his work, it’s immediately being distributed for free.
You have to think that, one way or another, the release is already done—waiting a few more weeks to play it costs nothing
