I agree with you, but I fully expect it to be leaked today. I considered doing it myself, but I respect the dev too much.
No offense bro but publics are never gonna pay money to a VN and that's because they are public BUT that will never gonna be less money to the DEV the ones who pay by monthly or yearly gonna pay it without being changed sooo...it doesn't matter the public got an update early right? after all this is a pirate site who do y'all think started this site and for what purpose?...public's are also respecting DEVs AND they are ALWAYS patience (explanation:-less patience's are the ones who pay monetary values to VN's cause they want to play a VN ASAP after release) peace out>> :giggle: (y)

The dev finally cleared out the sequel situation in the patreon post.
Basically this is the season finale. The new season will be a different exe, but still the direct game continuation.

-----------------------------

To clear up any confusion, regarding the next season/sequel:

At the current pace and how overwhelmingly shoot-focused the releases are, the story progresses too slowly. It took two years of development time to finish Meredith's arc, how much longer must it take to complete the rest of the story?

For us to have a shot at finishing the project, I must impose a few changes to speed things up so I can finish the project in a reasonable time-frame. At this rate, it can easily take up more than a decade.

A sequel, instead of a continued release, is a better approach for multiple reasons:

1. Reduce file-size bloat. Now it's approaching 8 GB, and I'm constantly having to re-upload files because it just. keeps. failing. There are methods to alleviate file size problems, but I'd still like to post a version without any compression.

2. Reduced Variable bloat. There are a lot of variables in Game of Hearts, and not all of them are relevant for future releases. A fresh state keeps things cleaner, and I plan to use different methods of recalling choices and character states in the future. The internals of Game of Hearts are cumbersome to navigate, file names(music, images, and animations) are difficult to keep track of and recognize.

3. A different vision of how the renders will be presented. It no longer matches my past renders and presentation.

4. UI and Font changes.

The sequel is a continuation of Game of Hearts. It moves a bit faster and contains a more varied cast of characters and situations, with an updated look and UI while keeping file size reasonable to an extent.

Again, I must repeat:

There will be new married/romantically involved people to deal with.

All the characters from Game of Hearts will also be present
, although they will have to take a step back to allow the new characters space to shine.

I've shared a reasonable amount of things on this site, but never from a Dev that needs the support AND has a free release schedule. ( He say's at the end of this update that he's hoping to go full time soon. )
Yeah, he doesn't have many paying members. Definitely deserves more. I was patron for few months now and just upped it now for a bit extra for release.

They aren't as hard-up as some devs, considering they are getting anywhere from

Honestly, one thing that I think is somewhat underappreciated is that where each dev lives matters a lot in these things. I have been to countries where you can live a pretty upper class and nicely comfortable life with the equivalent of that much monthly, and I have been to countries (America) where that much is basically below minimum wage. So where one lives matters a lot in these matters.

People who dont have enough money will anyways never subscribe and wait for a leak so it doesnt matter if it is leaked today or tomorrow or a few days later. It only matters if people who still have enough money and donot subscribe by playing for free as soon as the leaks drop then that will be a problem for the developers.I hope people who have enough money subscribe new Devs like this so that people who cannot pay can enjoy the leaks.People keep complaining about the lack of Good AVNs but fail to understand the big picture which is
1.Thhe game should reach maximum people
2.Majority of them should subscribe
3.So that people who cant pay can enjoy and keep the interest in game alive among majority of the players.Think about it guys not every one who plays big titles like Beingadik etc are subscribed but enough people subbed to let free2play gamers enjoy and keep the interest in game rising.
Hopefully it happens with game of hearts as well.It is a balance guys.Hope more people subscribe so that we can have leaks as soon as possible like in the case of BAD or Eternum they got out in a few hours . Respect to the Devs and his patrons.Much appreciated.Thank you

2k doesn't sound much for this scenario, especially depending on where you live. Also, 2k is this month, because it's a release month. Your link clearly shows he mostly gets about 1.3K-15K, which is kinda scraps. I earn almost 2k at my current job and that's a stable job with benefits and employer covering some of the social security contributions.
If I'd earn 1.3K on average while making a game, I'd shit my pants when I'd see my electrical bills, while also having to cover for social security and all that working a job with questionable certainty and future. I can understand why this dev can't afford to do it full time atm.

Just saying. Of course there are others in even worse situations, but that doesn't mean this guy is living in mansion or something.
