Among the first games I played when I arrived in the forum were insexsity and simbro. Nice little games indeed and they updated quickly. Are you trying to compare the quality of those games to the quality of current games?

Are you comparing apples and oranges? Those games aren't even visual novels; I remember Insexsity being a point-and-click adventure game. (Not to mention the whole 2D versus 3D aspect.)

I don't know the first thing about developing a game, so as far as timelines go have no clue what it takes to finish one or update one. but most of the games that are top tier animations story and that tick most boxes are that long in the cycle. Given that from my own knowledge of developers I follow very few do this as a full time job. So perhaps this is also why it takes so long.

And if there is any developer that ends up going the route of "ok I'll put out shorter update schedules just to give you guys more" end up abandoning the project entirely or rebooting what's already there and then abandoning. so it is a double edge sword it seems

While I'd agree many milk supporters with very little payoff this Developer is not one- also to add I'd hazard to say you don't complain about this developer being slow because while they are slow every update has been prime content.
If they make you wait a year and a half for six renders and an animation then that's an issue

Mostly solid points here though I will point out that some visual novels use canned animations instead of self-made ones (which is generally fair enough; not necessarily criticizing it). The devs who are just making games in their spare time can pretty much take as long as they want. The ones making a side income are usually more motivated and the ones making a full living... sometimes remain motivated or they become complacent and a bit too relaxed about it and just enjoy the money coming in. Then you have some people who simply burn out and force themselves for a while before eventually giving up and disappearing (regardless of money).

Edited to add: An important point I forgot to make... the reality is; a bunch of people started making games specifically to make money and tend to abandon ship when they don't gain enough support fast enough (it's not about passion or creating as a hobby). It's a more common problem now than in the past. I literally saw someone post a demo a few months ago, then posted about how they were making it in the hopes to someday make a living from it and making games in general. They did some bugfixing but then it has been radio silence ever since... and considering they haven't gained a single follower or supporter... I wouldn't be surprised if they've already given up on the whole thing.

There's NOTHING wrong with wanting to profit from your self-made work (music, arts, crafts, games, videos, photography, etc) but it shouldn't be your ONLY motivation.

any devs willing to assist me with an issue – is it possible to add my own .rpy file, or modify existing code so that self-voicing doesn't read the stats menu? specifically, the top right menu during sex scenes and the top left menu with the npc's headshot & counter (0 → 20+)

with self-voicing these are read every time you proceed the dialog – it's a bit maddening, if i'm honest.

i'm on mac, but i'd take a pc solution at this point.

I assume these are both 'menus' but I don't know this...if that is the case though, i'd honestly accept a solution that results in all menus being ignored by self-voicing – rather than isolating the two menus (top left & top right)

i've played some games where the self-voicing only reads stats menus when there's a change, which imo is the best way of doing it, but i assume this would be more complex.

You're the one saying that games used to be updated more frequently. I'm saying that you pay for quality with the time you have to dedicate to it.

I should of clarified more,, but like getting demoon eyes, or tail, or something of that demonic nature. Boob growing(for girls with no/small tits) or become prettier in general, probably is of that nature too if effected by new corruptive power I guess.

Don't get me wrong, i don't mind mature women in games, when MC is mature as well (while the barely legal MC with all mature women give me unpleasant shivers). Just if it's all that the game offer i would rather play something else.

This was originally posted in October 2024 when I first provided an edited script as an unofficial add-on. With the release of completed Game of Hearts / Season 1, the dev officially included the revised script files as an optional add-on instead of making them native to the default game.

My revisions include a fix for one minor variable bug that affects those on an Attraction path during chapter 3, but otherwise, is entirely dedicated to correcting/tightening up the English dialog throughout. More information is available in the enclosed readme, but I will highlight the following:


The "Grammar Patch" is not required to play this game, but will make for a more enjoyable read for those who care about such things.

To install, simply replace your /game/scripts folder with the entirety of the zip file linked below.

To be clear, I do not use AI or any other programmatic method to edit or proofread … just my eyes. I’ve been doing that for a long time and I think generally I’m pretty good at it, but I’m still human and I’m neither perfect nor infallible. I will absolutely miss some things and I welcome others pointing them out so that I have the opportunity to fix those issues.

That being said, the extra snark when they *are* brought up is wholly unnecessary. Just mention the error you encountered and I’ll fix it. If you could also give an idea of where, generally, in the story you encountered it, that would be a huge help. As it is, I have no idea where to find the line you quoted and I’d prefer to not have to go through the entire script again to try and find it.
