He's bored of making the game and ready to move on. To be honest, that's fair for him to do despite the intense disagreements in the end; Anyone eventually will want to move on even with a black mark.

You know, i had a similar opinion that he needed to abandon his main project and just make these mini stories, but would his supporters be ready to wait half a year for mini stories?

at this point he should just make anything otherwise he might not have any supporters left by the time he figures out what to do. that would honestly be wasted tallent

He won't do anything because they'll donate to him anyway, look at Stopper.

If you actually read through the comments on his Patreon, his own supporters have been questioning if this game is dead for 3yrs, where he has averaged less than 1 update per year that entire time. Updates which are already significantly smaller in scale and scope than his competitors. I'm not sure anything more than that needs to be said. The promo material for this update has been reused for 6 months now and he's basically producing a 500 render kinetic novel after 9 months when some KN devs are putting out that much content monthly.

The dude keeps stressing he's doing this for the money, but he's a fucking idiot and keeps shooting himself in the foot. The more I look into this dev, the faster he rises to the top of the list of the least business savvy individuals I've ever encountered. You don't fuck up and chase away hundreds of supporters to get your game onto some fourth tier storefront. If you're burned out on this project for now, fine, go start another one. After all, the vast majority of this content came in a massive surge. This dev really is one of the biggest milkers out there. And its really disheartening to realize people were doubting chapter 12 or 13 would ever drop the day chapter 11 actually did. This isn't something that is going to get better. It's gotten progressively worse as time has gone on, which has cost the dev money. He's doing the dumb thing that some business have been doing for years now - the more customers you lose due to lack of interest, the more you try to charge those that stay for your service, causing more people to lose interest, which leads to further price hikes, until no one considers giving you anything for what you're offering.

EVERYONE would be better off and do as the himself dev says - just pirate it since it is available all over the internet the day he drops content. The guy CLEARLY doesn't want to be doing this at this point. It's just that he's making waaaaaaay too much money to admit that he isn't actively working on the game for more than a couple weeks out of the year.
