Quick question, is the ingame hint updated? Because otherwise there's no reason to play this game.

It says the update is scheduled for the end of January on their Patreon.
This update is almost entirely focused on lesbian content with Cassidy --- I am hoping to release next week.
Seems to be a bug, but the game doesn't recognise losing your virginity to Steve via the escort route, nor losing your virginity to a stranger in the nightclub.
Thanks --- you're not really supposed to be able to do either of those but I forgot to block them. I think I might leave the Steve one (and expand it in a future update) but block the club from happening.

Yes, get a job at the record store and the boss, Cassidy, will ask you out; more content awaited. Plus Abby although that's casual.
And both of their routes end kind of abruptly too. Furthermore, while Cassidy's route is somewhat predictable, Abby's develops so very much out of left field. e.g. hanging out for days, weeks, and then suddenly it's time to get it on again...and then back to regular hangouts as if nothing happened until the next time gate.
It's one of those "cool but wtf?" types of time gated, zero breadcrumbs, zero hints, erotic game dev conceits that I personally dislike intensely. Seems to happen a lot with sandboxes.

I wish we would hear something - flu and then silence and just a few weeks before the the comment was 99 percent done a few bugs to fix... I stopped paying patron this month and I had been paying for quite some time

Damn, I wanna say stuff but complaining on a pirating forum is making me feel a lot more entitled than most people should.
But what I wanna say would mostly impact the people who are faithfully following and are actually hopeful for this series.
I do hope that this isn't discouraging for you but more encouraging as it seems people, myself included, like your work and want more of it.
And I really do hope that the upcoming update for "In Their Own Hands" will have a good amount of content and will come out in a shorter timeframe but it might be impossible with everything going on.
But what I wanna say would mostly impact the people who are faithfully following and are actually hopeful for this series.
