Isn't it time to give the game the abandoned status? Does anyone remember when the last update was?
Would the creators of this game mind if someone made a "fan/parody" game using their setting?

Not really, no. The last major public release was in August.
Well, technically, they don't own the copyright iirc, so I doubt they'd be able to do anything legally if anyone used the idea and characters.

An artist automatically has all authorial rights over any art they produce, including copyright. They would have legal standing to try to shutdown anyone straight up ripping off their work (this includes using their code, their CGs, and their original characters).
With that said, parody falls under "fair use" in US law, and it would be kind of rich for this dev to want to sue someone over a fangame when the only successful game they have ever completed was a LoL porn fangame. But "technically" they totally could.
There are times I really miss the facepalm reaction. As was already said, copyright is automatic in the USA and most other countries. Trademark and patent are similar, but both require an active effort to get and have different requirements and purposes.

Dev communication seems to only come forth to let us know they're gonna reuse old art again in some side-quest ending/alternative story line instead of even attempting to finish Sabia's main story & that Nomo is somewhere doing something I guess. But they're totally still "working" on it.

They are no longer interested in their reputation, the love of their fans, or the plot of the game. All they are still concerned about is the number of people donating money to them for nothing.
Only very old versions had prologue and supported mods. Realistically it's not worth it for a couple of mediocre scenes.
Well, we are only about 2 weeks away from the 2 year anniversary of the last story update and it's been 3.5 years since the last proper artwork in this game, so....
But aside from that, is that really a 9 day silence in the discord chat? Shouldn't it be more active than this forum?
